Its mainly Newcastle, its only gossip, its the way of the world, it may never happen, but..

All these stories about the so called bigger clubs being after Ba,Kruell, Tioti and Sess, I know all spelt wrong, well Ba is right, even I can manage Ba.

Lets hope that the powers that be say up yours, we are keeping them to take us to that mythical next level.

Lets hope the players want to stay loyal to the clubs that made them and want to stay and help us to that next level.

Do I ask to much, yes probably but it would be nice.

BTW would Ba out and Caroll back in be a good or bad move for Newcastle?

Obviously from a purely selfish point of view, I hope Sess feels that his future lies with us and in Newcastle's case it all goes tits up. However, I do understand where you are coming from with many players these days only showing loyalty to the highest payer.

Is it the player, or is it the clubs getting an offer too good to refuse?, with this FFP, clubs like ours would struggle to turn down a 10 million profit on any player, thats basically the stadium naming rights for 1 year (without selling the stadium name)

Good point mate, which just highlights how the game itself is more than ever a representation of the commercial society that prevails.

Man Utd are reportedly looking at Ba, If Fergy wants Ba he will get Ba, there`s zero loyalty within football these days, sad to say. Most players, at every club in uk would jump at the chance to play for Utd.

The thing for me though is surely there is a limit wher the actual amount of money becomes irrelevant..I mean how the hell can anyone who earns say £60,000 a week have a better lifestyle if they move for say £70,000 per week...

Loads for the likes of you and me, but if they are already absolutely loaded, I can't see how it will make much of a difference to a footballers existence.

true about the money aspect but i think if the like of Man Utd or another top team comes calling a true professional would also want to test himself at the very top to play with the best players and be recognised at the very top of their profession. increase the likelyhood of winning trophies and ultimately a bigger and better profile... which would then increase the amount of more money to be made through sponsorship and royalties etc.

unfortunatly i cant see them ignoring the call from a Man utd etc... it doesnt have to be a poor reflection of their feelings towards our club but more of a statement of intent on wanting to improve and prove themselves. obviously the money is ridiculous and i think it definitely means some players will move for money but then a true professional would want to move to improve regardless of his wages.

its still a ****e feeling though cos if they were to stay then who knows we could make the next level but since the commercialisation of the premier league its rare to see players celebrating testamonials at one club (unless they have been at man utd the whole time e.g. Giggs etc)

I agree with MrRAWHITE about the money thing. I mean, there's only so much money you can spend. An extra £10k a week or whatever can't matter when you're that rich. To say it's all about money is slightly unfair. Granted 99% of it is but unless you're a local lad playing for your local club, if Utd, City or maybe Chelsea come calling and you've got the chance of a Championship meadal, European football, playing with some of the best players in the world, you're going to go aren't you?!?

Thinking about it I suppose that lower league clubs battling for promotion will say the same about us when we call.

Although Demba Ba has clearly stated the guy who's being interviewed in the story actually has nothing to do with him...

So let's look at this Demba Ba thing - a bloke called Armand Doorn, claiming to be Ba's agent, said the player may leave for a big club (like Man Utd, or Liverpool) due to a contractual clause. Ba has responded by calling the fella "desperate" and saying his is NOT his agent.
