....whatâs going on at the club with regards to transfers? Our last two managers couldnât get enough of the media merry-go-round which sometimes did my head in, but I quite enjoyed that fact that we actually knew what was happening with regards to transfers. Under MOâN itâs kind of doing my head in not knowing whatâs happening because he only speaks to the media before and after the matches. If this is the price we have to pay for a winning formula then Iâm all for it.
Heard a little rumour today, Carroll back up the road for ten Million. Maybe we should offer them tuppence for Hendo.
If you were playing poker with Marty he wouldn't give you a clue what he had in his hand, I like this. It's a bit like Christmas day man, if you know what you're getting then you just go, oh, how lovely but when you open the parcel to a big surprise sometimes you're stunned, hopefully in a good way.
You must've been closer to Bruce than I was as I never knew what was happening - we had posts saying "I wish they would tell us" over and over again but the club always did business quietly and the press made their own minds up
This is the first transfer window where I'm not concerned whether we sign someone or not. I know we need some strengthening, but I also feel MON will manage with what he's got/has due back. Very, very strange to be feeling this way!
.....and theres no mention of Europe every time we get half a win....Im sure there`ll be less of all that stuff as it rubs off on the squad in future. Interesting to hear on the radio last night fans from QPR wanting the "Sunderland factor" of a change of manager to save them....£30m panic fund for Hughes...well we`ll see....its going to be interesting!!
I think the club has been pretty decent on the transfer front since Niall Quinn rescued the club. We very rarely talk about players unless we have put a bid in and are in the process of talking to them if at all. I like the fact that the club are run in such a upstanding manner, it makes me proud to be a fan, nothing worse than managers/owners who bang on about who they are trying to sign or which players they want before anything has happened. One word I keep hearing associated with the club is professional, from the way Niall Quinn moved roles within the board, the sacking of Bruce and hiring of O'Neill and even on the telly after our win on Sunday. After years and years of a what I perceived a lack of professionalism at the club, it is one of the things I most value about our new found status, and for that we have a certain Mr Ellis Short to thank. Long may his reign continue.
Being a nosey twat, i'm distraught at the fact at not having a clue what may happen. There-fore i may have to resort to making up total speculation....god, i could be a journo.
That's the one... MoN bids 15 quid for a coke heed from the scousers.. Stating "he leads the line very well".
