I was actually looking forward to the window opening at the prospect of Graham Carr turning up a couple more hidden gems of players to come in. Players leaving is part and parcel and really just hoped the board would see sense and just slap stupid price tags on our top players to scare other clubs off BUT the amount of false rumours and blatant dreamt up bollox that is going around seems to be at an all time high. I can't wait for February to come for the window to close and we can take stock of what we have. If the media are to be believed we basically have no squad left cause every ****er else is after our players. I think the daftest ones I've seen so far is Everton was in for Ba, now no disrespect to Everton but they have no money and as the league stands both teams are of a very similar position. So why would he go there? Or Mandy C coming back to the toon for £10 million WTF I just wish people would stick to the truth instead of making crap up and stiring the crap like Arry the used car sales man has been doing. Wasn't it like that last year though? It only kicked off when Torres left for Chelsea and Carroll leaving for Liverpool. That made up a massive percentage of the amount spent.
I think it will always be like this with toon from now on. the play their cards close to their chest RE targets and will never openly speak about who we're after. pretty much anyone we're linked with with out attributable quotes will be pure speculation to sell papers. most of our dealings won't be leaked until they almost have pen to paper and that will only be due to a leak in the logistics during talks or something. i expect most of our signings to come in totally off the radar.

I do agree with the clubs policy of saying nothing to an extent, cause the press have nothing to go on and have no clue of who we are signing. Though wish they would issue a short blunt statement to dispsell some of the rumours.
