Amazing record in Scotland, scored a goal every three starts for Boro despite **** service last season and got six in eight starts for Forest. Surely this would be a very decent signing if we could get him? Would work nicely at the top of a 4-2-3-1 with Becchio pushing him for his place.

Would love to get him... Not sure we can compete for wages unfortunately. From what I've heard he's a greedy fella too.

I reckon this would be a very good signing. He ahs been criticised a lot recently but he is a very good finisher. I dont see why we wouldn't be able to compete with wages either.

I reckon we could go for this but i dont see us getting him for some reason. I reckon the only reason we have been linked with him is because we are leeds and we get linked with every single player who is a free agent these days

Good if we unload Paynter and Forrsell, bad if we are signing him and selling McCormack or Becchio - Can't see us having Somma, Becchio, Paynter, McCormack, Forssell and Boyd competing for one place or if we play 2 up front 4 reserve strikers on the books. We already have far too much average in the squad.

I dont think paynter is ever going to look at the first team again and i think grayson is seeing it as ideal if forssell doesnt have to either but i dont think Becchio is good enough to push us on at the moment and mccormack cant play the lone striker role imo. Somma is injured and even if he is back in training, it'll still take him a while to get back. I reckon we are in need of a striker at the moment at least for competition of places. I'd still prefer us to play a 442 which does mean we are slightly weaker on the striker front

Yes but 442 means we also need 4 defenders, an area we are diabolically weak in. I am looking at it different, Bates says he gives Grayson a Budget, this budget is for wages, signing on fees and transfer fees. We already have far too much coming out of that budget on 'average' players. Forget Boyd unless we get shot of Paynter and Forssell because it will leave bottom of the barrel funding for a defender or two.

PLEASE GOD NO!!!!!!! Shockingly overrated player. Top scorer in SPL history, but it's very rarely mentioned that he only ever scored about 3 or 4 goals in his entire time there against teams in the top 6 at the time. McCormack is miles better, would score more in this division and works much harder. I do NOT want this lazy, overrated man in our team.

Boyd is utter ****e, doesn't run, doesn't play as part of a team, doesn't train properly, doesn't care and off the field is a complete ****er. He showed his true level when he played for Boro and was woeful, he was then even worse for Nottingham Forest. We have one of the best forward players in the league in Ross McCormack, we have amble back ups to support this position and we don't need a lump of ****e to join us. If this rumour is true, then it proves Grayson HAS TO GO AS HE HASN'T A CLUE.<grr>

You've bent the facts a bit there.

Factis he's been nothing but poor in England despite very good service in good Middlesborough and Forest squads.

I would sign him on a pay as you play until summer. He needs to score goals to get his next big deal, we can not lose if he is £&@" then we drop him!

The guy is a walking EGO and thinks he's of the quality that he should be playing for BIG clubs, what a diddy.
