A make or break time for us now, how many points from our next 7 games with a possible 21 points on the table? Personally I see this as the best chance that we will have of putting together an unbeaten run depending on the palace result. Get that game out of the way with a draw and I could see us putting our first serious string of back to back wins together. Palace V LEEDS LEEDS v Ipswich LEEDS v Birmingham Bristol City v LEEDS LEEDS v Brighton Coventry v LEEDS LEEDS v Doncaster If we want promotion surely 17 points is a must?
I think your underestimating teams in there. Palace is a hard game as you say, so is birmingham and City can be tough at there place to beat on there day. Im gonna be a little less upbeat than you, I reckon 16 points which is still a good string of results but i see us considerably weaker without howson
I have plumped for 17 points feeling a draw away to Palace and a draw at home to B'Ham is likely. Bristol City have a very poor scoring record and I feel the last three are ones we must win if we want promotion. Reading, Hull and Blackpool are who we must chase down and if possible put a 3 point gap between, they all have some tricky games over the next few weeks including Reading v Hull
At this minute in time I cant see us scoring enough points to get us that many wins! Im going for 12 points
If we manage only 12 we can kiss promotion goodbye and it would mean us slipping to around 12th spot - Twelve points from a possible 21 with 4 of those games being at home would be criminal.
Bristol will probably be without Maynard Doncaster without Sharp . Crystal P have other things on their minds so we should have a good haul 16 pts
Think a lot of this hinges on getting a good winger - striker relationship. If Townsend & Snoddy can start supplying Becchio or Rosco in the right way then we'll have a shout at getting 16-17 points out of that lot I reckon. Agree that Birmingham and Palace will be tricky, and that City can be tough, but I'd edge us to win if we start scoring more regularly in the run up to that game.
Start averaging 2 points per game from now till the end of the season & we're in the play offs- simples. So I'd settle for 14 from next 7 games. A win at Palace would be a bonus though as we never seem to do too well there.
can never predict leeds games but heres my best shot: Palace V LEEDS- draw LEEDS v Ipswich- win LEEDS v Birmingham- draw Bristol City v LEEDS- win LEEDS v Brighton= win Coventry v LEEDS- win LEEDS v Doncaster- win 17 points...but thats very optimistic, we'll probs get 7
I reckon about eight points. Most of those teams are as average as us, so you would expect lots of unpredictable results
Well I am usually the one most negative about things never putting on my rose tinted glasses but surely we MUST take at least 14 points from these games if we wish to be challenging for a playoff. IF we do not sign players who can strengthen the squad and replace at least two of the out of favour and outward bound defenders and IF we don't manage more than 10 points then Grayson has to go. Would prefer Bates out but using valuable wages on the likes of a winger Rogers, Forssell and co and continually leaving us short at the back - There are no excuses.
[SUP][/SUP]Stats tells us that 12 pts from next 7 games puts us on 50 pts from 32 games. This would keep us around 6th/7th place and a final total around 72 pts given the same pts per game for rest of season. For me its 12 pts min and a hopeful 14pts from the next 7 games. Even if we manage to get to a low playoff place one of the current top 3 would not. Could we get through 3 tough games for promotion ?
Forget promotion this season full stop.We are not ready for it at all.We begin building next season after Bates has sold out
Sad as it sounds, if I could pick between Leeds getting into the playoffs or missing out but Bates selling us to someone who cares then I would take missing promotion and having a decent chairman.
Along the lines of Bates selling, I don't think he would even if we get promoted. In fact I'd say there is an argument to be had that he is holding the team back (investment wise at least) until all of his development work is done. Then we get to the prem, and he makes the most profit out of all of his new shiny facilities. Can't see why he would sell then either.
