Why not? There have been some great players to come from non-league, and Vardy has 17 goals in 18 league games this season... worth having a look at surely.
Sorry - but this is way off the mark. I don't see how you can show such disrepect to Adkins - you have no evidence to support such a brazen statement.
A transfer always good, makes everyone feel happy and boosts moral. But it's early days, if we have not signed anyone by next weekend then maybe its time to start worrying a little. But even then there would still be over a week left of the window.
I'm sorry but no, no, no, everything about this no. If we went up, even if we came straight back down I would be disgusted if we sacked Adkins with what he's done for us so far.

Not every player a club buys has to be a maximum age of 16! Or maybe it's different rules for ARSenal...
Need to have a bit of patience guys and gals. It is frustrating and a bit irritating I grant you, to see the rumours going round that we are linked with this or that person. Then by the end of the window nowt actually happens. Teams like Leicester and West Ham seemed determined to throw money around to obtain the promotion. In Leicester's case they seem to want to buy up all the high priced players to ensure nobody else gets them. I have to say that I am a little surprised we have not challenged for some of these decent players. To be honest I get the impression that Cortese's lack of experience in the transfer market coupled with the kind of Salaries these players can command. Is a bit of a stumbling block at the moment, especially as we are a club of a similar size to both the main contenders. It is all very well saying that you will not pay over the odds in Salaries and Transfer fee's. The fact is though if you want to progress you do have to have a core of the higher priced/valued players. At the moment we do not have any, although some may argue that Lallana, Lambert, Spider perhaps are in that kind of value. For me there is too many if or buts about these players to compare them with some of the more established players there is around. While I would be prepared to give them the benefit of any doubt we do have to get quality players in to support them. Which I guess brings me round in a complete circle about being patient. We have a good manager in Adkins we seem to have the right kind of Chairman in Cortese (or chief executive or what ever he is called.) We know that both have Saints at heart so we are going to just have to let them do what they can do. Like all of you though........I do wish they would get a move on.....
Jeez - some Saints fans are just embarressing. Leave Nigel & Co to sort it out, and even if they don't sign anyone, I'll still back him as he's been fantastic for our club, as has Cortese. Now shut your whinging up, because it's getting very tedious now. Look up the word "supporter" and try being one for once.
agreed! its only day 11 of a 31 day window, we're not even halfway through yet and fans are complaining we haven't got anybody - look up patient in the dictionary and wait, if it comes to day 30 and we aint signed anybody you might have more reason to moan (not that i would support you then)
