We see a lot of different videos on here, and even though he is the best ever Newcastle player, best ever Premier League player etc. he never really gets much of a mention on here. Obviously there is not much to mention about recently as he has been retired for 5 or 6 years, but just thought I'd put a video or two on here for us to just watch and enjoy and remember how brilliant he was and how much we still miss him now (despite Demba's brilliance)

The one and only Alan Shearer (aka God)

The last great English centre forward. Rooney had the potential, but fergie has made him more into a number 10 than a number 9.

There will never ever be anyone like him again - he is the man! Still could probably play League One/Two now if he had a few training sessions

Shearer could have easily done a Sheringham and ended at a lower club, but I imagine it had always been his dream to retire at newcastle like Keegan before him

anyone else think he took nowhere near enough of our freekicks? i know we had some magicians in that department robert, solano, ect, but when i saw shearer take one 9 times out of ten it seemed to hit the back of the net.. he could drill and place them but didnt seem to take enough of them in my opinion.

Similar thing now. Taylor and Cabaye have taken a lot of free kicks between them and scored 4 of them. Ba has taken one and scored one. It's sometimes scary how good Ba is

Yeah he could have, but Nobby and Robert used to put them in 9 out of 10 aswell in fairness

Immense striker, it was his ability in the air that I loved the most. When we had him and Sir Les up top it was a forehead extravaganza.

Pity we decided to chop and change managers (and playing systems) so may times when he was at his prime, think how many goals he would have scored!!

Just imagine how good Shearer would have been without those 2 really bad injuries. His ankle smashed and his cruciate injury, definitely took away some of his pace. Still the best though!!

Absolutely love the goal against Villa. I remember him signing too, I was only 9 but was absolutely buzzing. Total dreamland that day.
