Being a student my cooking ability is lacking due to I suppose lack of experience.

Now I do have a question my hob is broke can you cook mince or pasta/spaghetti in the microwave? (main question)

Instead of just posting a pointless specific question, I thought people could also put in good meal/recipes you have conjured up, or any crazy meals you have ever had that wouldn't work on paper but have, i,e being a student iv had a pasta sandwich before!

Or any crazy drinks alcoholic or non-alcoholic aswell, i.e Skittles in Vodka so you can drink it straight!

Skittles in Vodka? Is it that simple?

I'll just recommend Skalpel's Brie recipe from the other day. Marvellous.

I'd highly recommend this website if you're a student, we had a few class nights trying out these recipes.

    http://www.pimpthatsnack.com/full.php

It's basically giving you methods to make giant versions of your favourite confectionary and other things, like a football sized Cadbury's Creme Egg or a massive Crunchie. Check it out and if you do any of them shove some photos on here.

I love cooking - mid way through my degree my Mam suggested I become a chef...not the vote of confidence I was hoping for in relation to my education, but I guess the sentiment was nice!

Best 'Easy' meal for me is a shellfish pasta dish which requires practically zero cooking ability...

    Buy:
Box/packet of microwavable mussels in garlic sauce.
    Streaky bacon
    spring onions
    bag of rocket
    cherry tomatoes
    parsley
    white wine
    Spaghetti

    Also, have 2 pots...

In pot number 1 boil your pasta (little tbl spoon of oil and a good pinch of salt) - always takes the longest to do...

In pot number 2, chop your streaky bacon up into thin pieces and fry it until its crisp and brown, throw in the white wine (about a glass) and leave it for a minute or 2 for the alcohol to cook off. Then in go your cherry tomatoes (sliced in half) and your mussels...When your mussels are all open and cooked, throw in the rocket, thinly sliced spring onion and chopped parsley and take it off the heat - drain your pasta and add your mussels and sauce to the pasta pot...stir it about and serve!

Always looks harder to make than it is, and tastes class for a minimum amount of effort!

    Other tips!

Put a spoonful of peanut butter in with stir-fry's...Makes it taste like satay sauce!

My flatmate makes a salmon dish for literally every lass he ever brings round to the flat, that's a piece of piss to do as well...

Put salmon fillets in tin foil with mixed herbs, soy sauce and sweet chilli sauce thrown over the top...
Put sliced pepper, red onion, mushrooms and courgette onto a baking tray, cover with mixed herbs salt, pepper and olive oil and stick 'em in the oven.
Put boiling water over couscous and when its cooked and then cooled add cubes of cucumber and sliced black olives...

Again, looks a lot fancier than it actually is!

sometimes it gets a bit of scum on the top that you have to skim off too.

buy 5 bottles of vodka and a couple of big bags of skittles, one colour for each bottle and taste the rainbow.

Roast aubergine and courgette, jersey royal potato dressed in pesto and caramelised onion is a nice winter evening vegetarian dish.
