If we seriously believe we can keep all three of the main centre backs and dispense with one of the backups, I'd be inclined to try and realise a fee and sell-on clause for Dale Bennett.

Sure, he's a better player than Mirfin, but do we need him either? Three recognised first team centre backs and two youngsters seems enough. And if we were to suffer four injuries at centre back in as many months, I can think of worse full backs to shuffle over than Doyley or Dicko.

very fair point NNW. I feel sorry for Mirfin. He came here because he wanted more first team football...when taylor gets back he won't even make the bench.

Chris you're right, Taylor was definitely slower at the beginning of the season, before the injury. Nos and Mapps play so well together, i just hope Mapps stays..maybe Nos coming back will sway him a bit..

I've a spot spot for Sunderland as my grandad was from there and grew up watching the great pre-war side with the likes of Raich Carter in it. He also admitted to me that once he moved south he used to watch WFC.

I also have a few friends who are black cats and they are great!!

I just have a soft spot for a team managed by Martin O'neil. He is a funny manager to watch!

The man is 60 & wears me out just watching him jump about like a jack in the box when we score.

Mind, he's working his magic so far, long may it continue.

Big test on Saturday, Chelsea away.

Incidentally Hornets, Martin O'Niell has agreed to let our young striker Ryan Noble go out on loan & there's plenty of interest. The kid is tall & skinny but has scored 13 goals in six games for the reserves.

Tip your manager off about this, it win win for us both. Don't miss out on this one.

Ah, we knew about this...and he's been on loan with us before, but didn't get much game time..i'm not sure why...in fact, i'm not even sure he made it onto the pitch. I'm sure SD will have spotted this and may want the chance to give him a proper loan with us this time! Different manager for both clubs so fingers crossed :)
