My respect for Hill went up, its sad that he could see it and Warnock couldnt. Players can only take so much of that before the dressing room is lost and I think thats what happened judging by our latest performances.
I agree. There was definitely a very odd feel to the MK match last Saturday and I can't avoid concluding that certain players did not believe wholeheartedly in the tactics (or absence of them!) Interesting to read comments in the last day or so from the likes of Tommy Smith, Jay Bothroyd and Joey Barton. Reading between the lines, they all seem to suggest NW wasn't get the best from them. Whilst you can point the finger at the players, I guess it must be hard to remain motivated when you are being asked to do a specific job, out of position, in an unconventional formation and with tactics that you think are erroneous. Perhaps what we saw at Fulham was the 'tip of the iceberg'? As others have opined, I think that this article vindicates the decision to bring in a different manager with greater pedigree. My concern now is how MH takes the remaining players - less three key players injured / at the ACON - and crafts a winning start over the next five matches.
Fantastic article , and 100% agree with everything on there , it highlights exactly what i was thinking , and i'm not an itk , just a fan observing week in / week out. I have upmost admiration for the man, he has used his capacity to motivate players to get him much further in the game than most. But it has been obvious for weeks that he was not earning his money for us at this level. He was coming across as clueless for a long time, to the extent i could not watch his interviews as they started to infuriate me. Top man , a legend for me but i'm afraid i do believe he would have taken us down this season, lets see what sparky can do.
