It's about having something different, it might not excite some people but does it excite Premiership fans when they're drawn against League 2 teams in it's current format? The League Cup in both England and Scotland isn't thought very highly of so I don't see what harm it could do to give this a trial for a year and see what happens, if it's a success then brilliant and if not then we just go back to our own League Cups

Because he is merely recycling ideas that have been mooted many times before. He's been in post for 6 months and all he can come up with as a cash generator is this risible rip off of other people's ideas.

Perhaps instead of spouting this guff he should have done some proper groundwork like asking English clubs (the big ones) if they would be interested. I doubt they would be because they have a revenue stream already - courtesy of Sky so why would this nonsense interest them in the slightest?

So you say 'is there nothing Rangers won't do for money' then you start going on that the guy should not be speaking about this because he's only been in the job 6 months. Sounds like you're moaning for the sake of moaning.

No i'm pointing out that this "Nobody" is talking about stuff which has been shot down before and will be shot down again.

ps Where did I say he should not be speaking because he's only been there 6 months?

You are suggesting it by asking who he is and claiming he's only been there a short while.

As I said, what difference does it make how long he has been there, he is perfectly entitled to express his opinion, despite your disgust.

Webel is Paddy Provo, Karen is Francis Fenian and Jakey is Seamus Semtex. It's fun making up nicknames.

Of course he is. Incidentally, did he suggest the idea when he was at Hearts or QPR or was he saving it for a club who needed every penny they could get?

Erm I wouldn't get too excited about us these days.

On the other hand none of them are worth getting excited about.

Much like the vast majority of the EPL to be fair <ok>

Sorry I haven't followed his career that close. Reid & Lawwell have spoke many a times about playing in England, I'm guessing you were equally disgusted.

If you don't like the idea fair enough, but moaning about a fella for bringing up the idea because he has only been at the club 6 months is pointless.
