Rangers Chief operating officer Ali Russell today spoke of the club backing a British Cup to replace the English & Scottish league cups. Good idea or bad?

I think it would be something different and maybe English teams might take it a little more serious.

It would be nice to see the lower league English teams putting 20 past some of the crap up north of the border <ok>

Are there any lengths Rangers will not go to in an attempt to rustle up more cash?

Anyway who the **** is he?

    I'm out.

My council tax is high enough without the city centre getting trashed every other weekend.

The twenty years of banning orders that's seen trouble reduce when English fans go abroad doesn't stop them driving over the border.

Yes with a history behind them of being involved in the day to day running of Celtic FC for several years.

What "History" does Ali Bongo have or as I asked "Who the **** is he?".

ALI RUSSELL joined Rangers officially in June in charge of operations and commercial affairs.

He had a wealth of experience from working with Queen's Park Rangers,Hearts, Scottish Rugby and Scottish swimming.

His main responsibilities are running the club from the business side of things and expanding the commercial operation

Pish idea. The EPL teams don't take the League Cup seriously now. They're hardly going to be anamoured with the thought of driving up to Inverness or Ross County on a Wednesday night to take part in a cup game.

You know Celtic do the same but you're main focal point is the fella that suggested it has only been at the club 6 months!?!

Sorry but I really don't see your problem!

As a football fan would you not prefer to see English sides play Scottish sides?

You already answered your own question.

But what is the difference from him suggesting it to someone that has been at the club for years?

Did you not understand what I said? What sort of team are they going to send up? A team full of reserves and youth players? What's the point? The English aren't going to go for it.

If they cannot muster much enthusiasm as it is how can they be up for playing the likes of St Mirren and Albion Rovers?

No, I'd rather we kept our own ****e diddy cup than have it integrated into one big league cup.

Bollocks to it and moving to the EPL I'd rather play in a ****e Scottish league.

But if they change the format then they might have to look at what the winner gets in terms of European qualification.

Maybe the top 4 wouldn't take it serious but I'm sure most other clubs would.

I would rather watch Gers vs an EPL or even Championship side than meeting a club they've already played 6 times in 1 season.

How about Celtic and Rangers enter the FA Cup in the first round? That way they'd both get knocked out by Stevenage or Crawley Town before the thing got started in earnest, so everyone's a winner.
