    Alreet lads and lasses.
My mate got us seats in a box for the mackem match. I was going to get tickets with my dad if I could (leazes end) but now I'm not sure. The derby is all about atmosphere...

Has anyone sat in the posh seats/box and if so, does it completely ruin the experience? I'm used to sitting right the near the pitch in the normal seats..

Oh and its my first thread since the old 606 so go easy please.

Never been in the posh seat at the toon but I have at Liverpool. It is very different to sitting with all the fans but the grub is nice <laugh>

    Welcome.

I sat in a box at Bolton once. The view is great, just the right height to be able to see both ends clearly. Amosphere was excellent, as you hear things from upper and lower tiers.

It will be different from sitting pitchside, but I'd ceetainly recommend it.

Hopefully this will help, but it may be different at SJP

Do so quite regularly mate both in big hospitality suites and boxes. Being brutally honest the atmosphere is not the same but its still an enjoyable experience. You'd feel a bit awkward singing put it that way! Plus if you're like me and get quite animated then you do get some funny looks if you say your piece. I remember the Watford game in our promotion season. There was a Watford player who was charging round kicking everything (doyley I think he was called). I was getting so frustrated at our lack of bite and how we were allowing him to bully us. Then the ever reliable Smithy marmalised him and I jumped up and shouted "come on, get that into you" needless to say I was looked at like dirt 1. For even speaking 2. For taking pleasure in us meeting fire with fire.

The food at Newcastle is usually nice mind!

I usually sit in the posh seats, as I live so far away, on the rare occasion I get to attend a game, I like to do it comfortable.
I don't think it ruins the experience at all. The only things I miss is the build up of the atmosphere, and the half time things, but it is nice to be able to go back inside and have your half time drink waiting for you, and not have to queue for anything.

Atmosphere is slightly damaged as your sitting/standing with people who are all suited and booted. But its brill never the less, awesome atmosphere, but i personally would rather be in the crowd sitting down

Paid £50 on two occasions for seats in that area, once was when Bowyer had a go at Dyer, birds eye view. Decent seats but you'd be better off among the real fans for less cash.

    Thanks for all the replies.

Think I'm still going to try and get seats in the crowd and if not go in the posh seats. Either way should be good mind....
