    <doh>

I love how not knowing everything about Justin Whittle means that my first City match was at Wembley.
I realise he played a very important role in the 'Great Escape' but as I was only five years old at the time, I occasionally find it hard to recall <doh>

But of course, yet again, the younger supporters are brought in to question because they 'don't know anything about City'. Well I apologise deeply but I'd rather focus on the present than research the 70s, 80s and 90s.

I went to various games at Boothferry in 2001-03, and have not missed a single competitive game at the KC Stadium since we moved there.

You may have hit a nerve <laugh>

Billy Bly in goal, Boeteng, Matt 'Ginger' Bell (definitely in defence), Bill Bradbury up front, Wayne Brown? and Major Frank Buckley as manager freeing up Barmby.

I was just picking players that I had seen, so excludes Maddison.

Myhill - love the guy, but has never had an orange thrown at him in his life, just has an unusual first name. Glyn. So not enough to dislodge Keckers.

Hmm, again only picked players I've seen. Wayne Brown wouldn't have lasted 2 minutes with Bill Baxter.

And there's no contest between Brabin and Boateng.

P.S. I had thought of the easy option with this team and picking all of the Browells.

I think it was to do with having healthy diets even way back then, and his liking for them.

South stand cottoned on to it, and the pitch would get showered with them when he ran out in the warm ups.

If you remember the tennis ball incident at Bolton for David Lloyd. Well it was nothing like that. Lloyd got dozens, Keckers got hundreds - and with affection.

He finished up in prison. Working there!

W hasn't been all good. From the players I saw play and remember, here's my W-ank XI

    Tony Warner

    Jon Whitney
    Neil Whitworth
    Matthew Wicks
    Ian Wright

    Ryan Williams
    Simon Walton
    Curtis Woodhouse

    Aaron Wilbraham
    Jamie Wood
    Danny Webb

Maybe a little harsh on one or two, but there's enough **** in there to nullify any modicum of talent.

I think he said in a newspaper interview or a programme that he liked them & then next home game bunkers hill threw loads at him. Either that or it was to give him catching practice before the game! <laugh>

There was story (I think on this board) that two lads saw him stop on his walk home from training and buy some oranges. He ate most before he got home. The kids followed him, and at the next match left an orange near the net. After a few games this increased to more and more oranges. Which he always took home with him. Great character.

I can't think of many 'Es' but Elliot and Edwards would be a good start.
Edit. Add to that Mike Edwards, Edge, East, Evans, Eyre and Mike England as manager
