    Proper tackling in the dictionary can be found next to Maldini. That man had a knack for standing/sliding tackles and would rarely get called for it. His timing was exquisite.

    At the risk of being accused of relying on history like the scousers (they have good reason to mind as they have not won the premiership ever and they last won the OLD division one more than 20 yrs ago!), I would say that these are quite amazing stats. Like Swarbs I didn't think they were so much in favour of United.

    True, but then I would still argue the emphasis is on the tackling player to make sure they are not doing anything dangerous, rather than the other player to get out the way or avoid being hurt. And there's a difference between having studs showing and having them going straight forwards with all your weight behind them. The strangest thing about Spearing's tackle is that he catches him with the studs of his trailing leg, which he could easily have bent out the way and still got the ball! Probably just a bit of inexperience showing there.

    This. He almost never lunged or made a dangerous tackle as well - always stayed on the floor and in control. That's why the man's a legend <ok>

    Not that again, as posted before and for the last time, yes I live in Marbella, which to answer your question is not in Manchester, I still own a property in town where I lived all my working life, now retired and travel back for 95% of games home and away. Notice your location isn't mentioned, would it be south of Watford by anychance
