win the champions league.. Yes that means a side capable of handing barca their heads, standing up to reals tricks and taking bayern or inter apart.

Only players now playing i nthe english prem will be considered.

I'll throw one out but please don't just tell me i'm wrong post your own side and why you think it could win.

    4-2-3-1 - I will use a 4-2-3-1 formation here

GK: Hart. I think its close between him and reina but Hart gets the nod for more consistency.
RB: Richards. Not too many fantastic RBs at the minute so richards can look very impressive.
RCB: skertl. my contraverisal choice. if you force carrgehr out of the side and form part of the meanest defense? 2 good seasons in a row
LCB: Vidic. Despite all the injuries he's still the best in this slot in the league
LB: Cole. Despite the talk cole is still the best one in the league with the best engine
DCM: lucas. The stats don't lie, in the past season and a half up to his injury he's been the best i nthe slot
DCM: Yaya toure. This guy is class further up and to be frank he would be even better back here.
RW: Silva. Has made city tick.
LW: Bale. Even purely on the theory he put 10 balls in the box RVP will prosper, all about pace.
ACM: Rooney: playing deep i think he could do this role and be effective.
ST: RVP. this goal scoring says it al

    Hart
    Richards Skertl Vidic Cole
    Lucas Toure
    Silva Rooney Bale
    RVP

Special mention for kompany, aguero, Reina, enrique, mata, milner and modric

GK: Hart. the most consistent keeper out there ATM.
RB: Richards. Added bonus of being a big man and gives you an aerial present - unusual for a full back.
RCB: Agger. Part of the tightest defence in the league, can bring the ball out of defence and has a blockbuster shot to boot.
LCB: Vidic. Would form a great partnership with Agger, one of the best in the business.
LB: Enrique. Good engine and can deliver telling balls into the area
    DCM: Lucas Leiva.
    DCM: Yaya Toure.
    RW: Silva.
    LW: Bale.
ACM: Kun Aguero: Can play off the front man and has been more consistently impressive than Rooney this season - remember its still his first season here too!
ST: RVP. Scoring record is the best for a player currently playing in the league...

Reina - Solid keeper, experienced and a great leading.

Richards - Again solid, lots of energy.
Vidic - Great in the air and lets no one barge through.
Agger - neat, tidy, comfortable on the ball and has the pace to handle those pick strikers.
Enrique - Just been great all season and is just to consistent to leave out.

Silva - Been great all season, he's creative and scores goals from Midfield.
Lucas - Barely puts a foot wrong. He breaks up opposition play, solid tackles and has great stats this this.
Modric - Just quality. He's been great for Spurs this season despite the potential giant distractions.
Bale - Model professional, skillful, quick, strong, pacey, comfortable on the ball and has great distribution. One of the Leagues finest.

Suarez - Skills, skills and more skills. Moves through defences with ease and has the ability to make some thing from nothing.
Bent - Goals, goals and more goals. Pace, muscle and consistency over many years is what this guy has, and with a solid team behind him, with lots of skill, he will have plenty to feed off.

    ------------------Reina---------------
    -Richards-----Vidic----Agger--Enrique-
    ------------Lucas-----Modric---------
    -----Silva----------------------Bale--
    ------------Bent-----Suarez----------

Honourable mentions- Hart, Tiote, Wilshire, Nasri, Van Persie and Aguero.

GK: Reina (It’s tight between him and Hart but Reina is more experienced and that counts in CL football)

LB: Cole (Again, he is experienced and he can defend as well as attack)
    CB: Vidic (Consistently solid)
CB: Kompany (He pretty much carry’s Man Citys defence. Fantastic centre back)
    RB: Sagna (solid.)

LW: Bale (Scores goals, pacey, annoyingly good)
DMC: Lucas (Even opposition fans are starting to see how great he is. His absence is the reason we got thumped by City, we miss him more then Suarez)
MC: Gerrard (he is experienced, he still has “it”)
RW: Nani (as much as I dislike him, he is a very good Right Winger)

SS: Aguero (marginally better than Rooney when both are on top form
    CF: RVP (He scores

Subs: Hart, Agger, Silva, Suarez, Walcott, Yaya Toure

    Mine would be:

    Hart
    Richards Kompany Coloccini Enrique
    Lucas Y. Toure
    Aguero Silva Bale
    Van Persie

Sub: Reina, Agger, Vidic, Gerrard, Nani, Rooney, Suarez.

Everyone picks themselves there, I put Colo in defence because he has a bit of flair which would work well against Barca.

Barcelona are a homogeneous team of hispanic midgets. Homogeneity is their source of power. What better way to beat them than with a team of large black men?

    -------------------Vorm-------------------
    -Richards----Samba--Kompany----Figueroa-
    --------------Tiote----Essien--------------
    --Sturridge-----------------------Moses---
    -----------Heskey------Yakubu------------

Or perhaps if the FA is reading this, might I suggest a group of skinheads capable of laying down the law?

    --------------------Reina------------------
    -Hutton--Senderos--Skrtel--Collins--Young-
    -------------Shelvey---Spearing-----------
    -Obertan-------------------------Ireland--
    ------------------Rooney-----------------

Ideally the match would take place on a wet Monday night in Stoke.

But given their current crop of 'talent' probably not unfair for the first time in 20+ years...

Silva's a winger, cowboy. You'd choose Shrek over a fit RVP? No chance.

Is he? I see him as a roaming AM. Dno't think he is a Winger and if so, switch him with Suarez or Aguero, they all rotate and cause problems. I chose Shrek because think back to Tevez, Rooney, Ronaldo linking up, he would play very well with those three behind them and could torment defenses. RVP could do the same but we have seen the Rooney and the aforementioned actually win the CL ( granted Terry slipped, still won it).

    Id say a 4-2-3-1 with

    Hart
    Richards Skrtel Vidic Enrique
    Lucas Y.Toure
    Silva Mata A.Johnson
    RVP

Bench - Riena, Agger, Tiote, Bale, Rooney

Can tell you're a yid. Walker isn't even on Kelly's level yet. Modric is about as overrated as Carrick. Don't even get me started on Kaboul

If we are picking a team to win the CL, I would like to have players who have done it, they add that extra bit of experience. Right through the spine I would have Vidic, Gerrard, and Rooney who won it with others such as Cole, Agger, Reina, and I think RVP ( was he at Arsenal in 06?) who were that close and have that drive. Also having RVP and Bale and Gerrard/Essien on the bench would add some more direct play, drive, and physicallity to the squad if needed.

Either way i like my squad <ok>

Hate Rooney as much as you want but when hes got his head together then he is untouchable and is an epic premier league star...id swap him with aguero but not replace him with Aguero..for me..theres nothing Aguero has done that Rooney hasnt already done when it comes to football being played at its highest level.

Suarez?? great skill..not such a great temprement for me so far..so would not consider him..
