you reckon we could go back in for him and try to get him on the cheap now?

we don't seem adverse to playing the long game these days. if Carr has identified him as a good fit a year ago then its still surely the case. we might get him a lot cheaper now that PSG have big money to throw around after bigger names. (Ba aside obviously...)

One side of me thinks if he did come he wouldn't be loyal and would be looking for the next 'step up'.

The other side of me thinks if he does the job for a season or two then moves on equalling/increasing what we paid for him then why not.

Nobody is 'loyal' these days and only moves to a club they love.

agreed. money is basically the bottom line for most players these days unless they've made their money and are after success. it would be hypocritcal for me to say that they should be loyal when a massive cheque is waved under their noses. i like where i work but i'd leave in a shot for more 25% more cash or whatever. Its a job at the end of the day.

I would say take him on and sell for equal or for a profit. at the end of the day if a stiker has a couple of decent seasons in the prem they're usually worth at least 10m by that point. its a no lose situation if he does alright.

He's not getting much time on the pitch at PSG but I'm sure he knew this was going to happen when the Qatar Investment company bought the club, but he did sign a 1 year extension in September last year.

16 games overall (just over 600 minutes on the pitch this season in league, Europa and both French cups), 2 goals, 3 assists and PSG rate him at 9 million Euros...

then you would say that puts him in our price range. he was our first choice over maiga initially and from what i gather we were going to spend that sort of money on him before the deal collapsed. who knows. might be an easy one to resurrect.

not bothered. he's a second striker, and we are in need of a talented 'big lunk' upfront.

there aren't many prolific 'big lunks' about though they tend to be more of a means to an end so that their strike partner can get the goals.

watched a bit of him this season (mainly sub appearances) i'd have him here very impressive one of the games was against Sochaux and he did more in the 10 mins he played than Maïga did in the 70 mins he played.Hope we go for him just don't tell smudger <whistle>

he's played no where near 600 minutes he's played 11 lge games 5 cup games all from the bench he's played 131 mins of football scored 1 in the lge which isn't that bad the only game he's started is a psg 2 game and was subbed after 46mins the only way he's played 600 mins if the site you got the info off has included internationals which is 5 games with one goal which would make sense as he's only scored 1 goal in all domestic competitions and has scored one international goal

saying that if the site i got the info off is wrong then <laugh> but i've watched him a few times and he's always been on the bench coming on for 10 to 15 mins

We have scouted him this long and anyone we have scouted I would take. Were very keen in him in the summer so if we got him id be happy enough.

No thanks he made his position quite clear in the summer, so there is now too much risk attached. Much rather we set up a summer deal for Jordan Rhodes with Clarkie.

he showed something mandy didn't or jose he showed loyalty to psg find it odd that fans wouldn't want him for this reason but then slate our own players for jumping ship

Whats the chances of a loan with option to sign? Try before you buy seems like the perfect option to me

Can't say I've rated him that highly. But for a bit part player, to create or score a goal 1 in 3 games isn't too shabby.

these are the stats you need to look at not his 131 mins sub appearances in the league for psg this season

Erding played four seasons at Sochaux and scored 24 goals in 78 lge appearances that's roughly 1 in 3 not bad for a second striker
first season for PSG 31 games started 1 one as a sub 15 goals
second season 34 games 5 as a sub 8 goals
third season 11 games all 11 as a sub 1 goal

these are league stats and IMO he's a good choice

its not that he didn't want to come to us. PSG had just been bought out buy a gulf state and he had the chance to be part of the french man city project and decided he wanted to stay and be part of it. you can hardly blame him can you? it just hasn't worked out for him as they're going after the big guns now.
