I think I'd sooner have Henderson over Adam. The latter needs a kick up the arse for his performance in the last city game.
I don't agree that we got tonked. A pretty unusual mistake from Reina, a penalty that wasn't and the proverbial lack of chance conversion. Kompany may still play. His appeal is heard today. For me, it's not a 'given' that the ban will be upheld. Does Anyone know at what time the appeal takes place?
^ This. Think he needs a kick up the backside for all of his performances since the Chelsea game in November.
You could see the gap during our December games, it was a miracle we managed to concede so little with our defense so exposed. Spearing came back just in time for the Newcastle game which helped a lot considering their central midfield Cabaye and Tiote. He didn't do a bad job against City but the quality of Lucas was badly missed.
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish is likely to revert to his strongest line-up to face Manchester City in the first leg of their Carling Cup semi-final at Etihad Stadium on Wednesday. Captain Steven Gerrard is in line to start having played 90 minutes in the 5-1 FA Cup win over Oldham on Friday. BBC Radio 5 live and BBC Radio Merseyside will have live commentary, while the BBC Sport website will have live text commentary.
Looking forward to this one. We have to aim to get a draw at the etihad and then try and take them out at anfield..It is good news for us, that they have a few suspensions and injuries as they are a very strong squad. Think Carroll has to start again upfront with Stevie g behind him, we have to start with bellamy somewhere behind Carroll as man City are at home and will try to dominate possession, therefore some pace for the break is imperative. That said we cant expect bellamy to play the whole game, so maybe have little |Raheem on the bench to come on late if its close to add pace against what should already be tiring legs....
24 hours to go and no news on our end of injuries... kompany and yay out is good but it all depend on if city want a tin bob cup or the league. after this weekend draining game will they put silva and aguero out or rest them in the confidence that they can win it on the 25th? dzeko, balotelli, nasri, barry etc we can handle.... silva and aguero are special.
FA once again proving that they are not consistent. I always though appealing and losing resulted in another game being added to the suspension.
Looking forward to it. Without Kompany I reckon we can cause City's defence problems - the way City failed to pick up Rooney running from deep for his goal: you can see Stevie G causing the same sort of problems, and Carroll might fancy his chances against Lescott.
Two-footed challenge which are always straight red and they appeal. Sounds like a frivolous appeal to me.
