I think it reflects the sad state of football. when a "lower league" team gets forced into administration over what £10 million. yet Premier League clubs can splash double that amount on a player...whilst being 100's of millions in debt. the lower teams get forced out of existance whilst the bigger "richer" clubs who are actually in huge debt 10x worse that the other clubs.

the worst thing is that it is all to do with profits... the clubs with the bigger debts bring in more interest payments so its beneficial that they are not put into admin because of the finances that can be drained out of the club by exterior sources.

money is really ruining the game. everyone knows about the stupid millions man city pay out... but that is just the tip of the iceberg. the real damage is done with the debt these clubs are allowed to build up and effectively get away with admin just because they are a gold mine for the banks.

The thing with Salisbury is that they actually cleared their debts (mostly because they wanted to keep Matt Tubbs and paid him League 1 wages to stay) and still got demoted!

That really pissed me off! The FA, Football League just love to and salt to the wounds and don't give a flying **** what happens to the club(s) afterwards. Everything the clubs build over the years (literally from the ground up) and the sacrifices that they have to go through just gets thrown out of the window and they have to start all over again (unless your lucky enough the someone with enough money and business sense comes in and takes over the club)

unfortunately football is a business and there is no sentiment in business it's going to take one of the big boys to go into administration for the FA to step in and i doubt they'll do anything then.
seems a bit off that a club can vanish over debts of 5 to 10 mil when some clubs are 100 millions in debt and continue to operate the bubble will burst soon surely

Thanks for your support guys. Much appreciated at the moment. Well we've sunk about as low as its possible to go and need a buyer within the next couple of weeks. Apparently there are 3 interested parties so fingers crossed one of them is a decent individual or group. The non playing staff and small local businesses are the ones I feel most sorry for and unfortunately many jobs will be lost because of this. If the slimeball from Japan who never even attended an Argyle game and was just trying to make a quick yen out of us loses everything, I wont be losing any sleep!

Will never forget how they played 'We Are The Champions' when we won the league at their place , even though that game condemned them to League 1.

    Great club and fantastic supporters.

Feel sorry for any team that goes into admin. The Green Army fans are fantastic and I have the utmost respect for them for the way they carried out the end of last season.

On another note, my 5-A-SIDE football team is called The Green Army so you can come and support us if you like! We're not very good mind!

    All the best Plymouth!

Just out of curiosity...which pub will you be going to before the match...if your going to one, and can you drink on the backpage coach service?

I'm not going to a pub before the game as I arrive in Stoke quite late.

You're not supposed to be able to drink on the BP coaches Nobbys Trumpet but some have tried in the past.

Check out with them for certain though.

They have an advert on NUFC.com

Cheers AB! Think I'll be getting the train down then! Even though its probably more expensive it means I can decide when I want to go and return, which in return means more time in the pub and more time drinking!

Guttering news! The away game last year summed up the absolute class of lower league teams: bar Cardiff I don't think I met sounder fans anywhere than in the Championship.

You lot were truly amazing home and away (and of course on the forums) and it really does demonstrate what is wrong with the game today.

What ****s me off the most is the fact that the players can move on, the owners can sell up, even the tea lady can head elsewhere, but what you can't do, as a fan, is simply up sticks and change allegiances! It's the old cliche, but at the end of the day, the only people who truly suffer are the only ones who truly matter!
