As we all know this kicks off on the 22nd of Jan with coverage on ITV4. So couple of questions for you. 1. Will you pay any interest in the competition at all? Or do you think its a low key contest not worthy of your viewing time. 2. Would this be a good place for Mr Adkins and Mr Cortese to find a few polished or unpolished gems as the competition gets to the latter stages. 3. Bearing in mind players such as Drogba, Essien to name but two have come from that region of football would you like to see saints add a African player to go with there Asia and South American contingent thus maybe further promoting a global brand. Cheers guys.
1. Yes! 2. Doubt it 3. Not really, I am sure that any player that we buy will be bought for the benefit of the team.
Disagree with that. I think it's one of the best and I'll be paying attention. Egypt have dominated lately, but I think they've been lucky and there are so many teams with a realistic chance of winning it this year. I love seeing how passionate the fans are about it as well. I don't think Saints will be after any of the talent though. The notable performers normally end up at top division clubs in Europe.
Totally agree at every competition whether it be the world cup or the Asia cup a new star is generally born. I guess Adam hasn't been interested in seeing Lee on YouTube etc cause the competition is dire.
That's Asia cup not African cup of nations...The last African cup of nations was dire as was the world cup. I haven't watched the Asia cup yet.
No doubt Udinese will snap someone up. They've previously brought in Gyan Asamoah, Kwadwo Asamoah and Sulley Muntari.
I wacthed the last edition of it and the only good game was the Angola 4-4 Mali, when Angola were winning 4-0 with 11minutes to go and Mali came back and scored 4 goals!!Just goes to show that anything is possible in football!I might watch 1 or 2 matches though, depends on the quality on show.
Are the all currently playing for them? How are the fairing in their league? Sorry my Italian league knowledge is dreadful I don't like leagues full of match fixers! Adam I don't wanna start a which contest is better but I am generally certain that people especially in Europe class the African cup of nations higher than the Asia cup.
I wasn't saying that the Asia cup was better than the African cup of nations. I think the Euro's are better than world cups.
Agree with you on the Euro part if you look at this years group stages you don't get matches like that in the world cup til the quarter finals!
Well Gyan is in U.A.E because he sold out for oil money, Muntari went to Pompey and then Inter, Kwadwo is still there.
