He is holding this great Club back & we will never get anywhere with him at the helm. Forget about posting about super signings, he will scupper everything. To put this into context, I posted recently that we were on the verge of signing Robbie Rodgers (USA international) on a free. He wanted £8k a week, Bates blocked the deal until our form went tits up. He was at the Burnley game & was due to sign his deal last Wednesday. He gets in the room & Bates offers him 2.5 yr deal on £4k a week & no signing on fee, take it or leave it. Rodgers was advised to compromise at £5.5K pw until end of season. Bates says **** off, so he did. The bloke advising Rodgers (not his agent) is Leeds thru & thru, but reckons Bates was piss taking. The lad is now in talks with Leicester! You know whats gonna happen lads. He'll sign for them, play a blinder on last day of season against us (prob get a hat trick to boot!!) and pip us to the play offs. Thanks once again Bates you piss stinking old crook.
I'm not up to speed on what Leeds players get paid these days, but surely £8k for a virtual unknown from the MLS with an even more questionable track record preceding that is a the sign of a right chancer? For once, I'm with Bates. We've got a poor track record of signing players and giving them more than they deserve. just look at the squad - we've got loads of them that we can't get rid of!!
Maybe so, but to bring the lad over on the pretence that he was getting the deal agreed just for Bates to try & get one over on him is a joke. Apparently he is highly rated by Jurgen Klinsmann (USA coach) & by the coaching staff at Leeds & his advisor (who all have Leeds at heart, not their Monaco bank accounts). The latter was sat behind me at the Forest game, so is a true fan too. We have, with the odd exception an average squad who are over acheiving in this league, so wouldnt stand a prayer in the Prem without massive investment in the team, which will never happen under Bates.
Agree with Josh everything Ive seen of him he looks **** and more bothered about his fashion and having parties not right for english football
