Good news from Sunderland today that Bolo Zenden is to be offered a new contract when his current one runs out at the end of the season. This is as a reward for his contributions both on and off the field, I know he does a lot of work for local charities, in particular the children in and around our hospitals.

Top bloke, well done SB, NQ.

Agree Zenden is a top bloke but not sure he will be up to it next season. Charity work is all well and good but it doesn't win games, if NQ wants to retain Zenden then give him a coaching role for the midfield which would be an excellent decision as our present coaches in that area are poor going on the midfields performances over the last two seasons.

Maybe that's what they have in mind for him? I agree, he can't do it week in week out for 90 minutes but he shows class when he does get a run out. He never cost us anything so it's wages only and for me he contributes to the team when asked.

If it's true then it's the best bit of news I've heard in quite a while. Top man, always adds something when he's on the pitch and a gentleman in the SNQ mould.

Brilliant, he's a great footballer, and a true gentleman. He has class, and so much skill. What he lacks in stamina he makes up for in pure Dutch footballing genius.

I think this is well earned by Bolo.
I value his presence in the squad as much for his impact on the attitude of the younger players as for his contibutions on the pitch, which you'd have to assume will decline in the new season - but he still has the class to change a game as an impact sub.
He does however personify what it takes to become a top level professional in the modern game and his influence around the club is therefore perhaps greater than we can estimate from the outside looking in.

Agree with that and also feel he's got a lot to offer as a squad player

Just wish he would give jordan some coaching, or use him and bring Jordan on when hes knackered, I'm not knocking Jordan but he is a much better player and we should always field the strongest team
