Rules are **** nowadays. This is a man's game being made into some ponsey touch rugby style football.

Kompany should never in a million years be a red. Shame on whoever is in charge of making the rules.

I wonder if the FA are going to fine Man city after all their players did surround the referee (ala spearings sending off).Guess i won't hold my breath for it to happen.

Mickey mouse it may be, but for me, a cup is a cup and we have won fook all for years. This could be the catalyst to kick start the second half of the season. A cup win, Europa footy confirmed, a chance to play with verve and confidence again. I think it could do us wonders.

there only needs to be 3 players to approach a referee in a confrontational manner to merit a charge of failing to control players - the referee has to include it in his report - he wont have done it in this case as three united players confronted the referee after the incident and you can't charge man ure with failing to control their players

only a mickey mouse cup after man ure are knocked out - if united were still in it it would be worth winning - didn't you know that the only trophy worth winning is the one won by united in the year they have won it

    Every trophy is worth winning.

However every year united win it we have your lot telling us it's the mickey mouse cup etc etc.

Whatever happens with this competition, as soon as the team you support is out, you will always refer to it as mickey mouse <laugh>

However this the the channel 5 cup is far bigger than the Champions League <ok>

Now now, we don't see trophies as mickey mouse cups, I am happy to see my team win any Final, even for the sake of just beating the other team.

The year United pulled out of the FA cup I constantly had mancs tell me it was a mickey mouse cupand this world club thing was the ticket, ye were FA Cup Champions, thats what was so lame about ye pulling out, as it turned out the mickey mouse cup was the one you ditched the FA cup for, and the following year when ye really wanted to claim Your cup, the hammers put you out I think.

The FA cup is not and never has been a mickey mouse cup. It's the best domestic cup trophy in world football in my opinion.

I would rather watch paint watching paint dry than sit through the group matches in that cup, Rovers were in this year in the group of "Death" spurs were in thats why I watched this time

Chumpions League, not evena real comp.. seeing as we're not even in it<ok>

Seriously though, watching the group games is like watching bread get mouldy, it should be a testing ground for new rules in the game, that would up its profile a bit, and the winner is allowed to have their keeper wear giant gloves for the entire following season:)

At least you are taking the piss, no doubt when it starts again we will have some "fans" on here seriously trying to argue the same.

I actually think although the format is flawed it is a decent comp to win but I understand your disappointment and how it feels different after dropping down to it from the CL

I thought winner being allowed into CL was good idea but that is miles better.

What about winner is allowed to ban a player from opposing teams in next years comp, now that would create some discussion.

To be honest now the 'shame' has worn off a bit I want to do well it - i want us to win every cometition we enter. It's just you wouldn't get the same buzz from winning this as you would with winning the CL for obvious reasons.

I'd be suprised to see anyone argue to Europa is bigger than the CL though ( even this season ) <whistle>

Have you ever read UIR's posts?

Agree about wanting to win all comps, it really pisses me off when fans talk about finishing 4th as a priority, bollox!

Know what you mean about this season and dropping down but maybe if your recent league form continues and you only just qualify for europa then next season you will feel good about playing in it. <runs away>
