The only difference is Harry has not been very clever by blurting it out in the press. We're in no worse a position for him doing so unless you think it will affect Ba. I don''t think it will. All the managers supposedly already knew so all Harry has done is begin the unsettling. I don't think it'll work with Demba who seems very level headed. Look I hate Redknapp as much as any man alive, but it is highly hypocritical to look down on him for knowing about clauses. They rarely stay secret with agents about. It is just as underhand us finding out about Demba and Yohanns clauses.

Pardew has spoken about others teams players in the press. Look at the Maiga saga, you can't tell me we didn't try and get him to push. It only came unstuck and got a "we don't condone that" when he refused to train and they threatened action.

As I say nobody should be naive and think Harry is the only one at this. Its just the way he goes about draws more attention because he comes across like a 2nd hand car dealer. All clubs are as bad as each other.

Yeah, that's what I was getting at. Everyone knows release clauses exist, knows where they exist and probably knows their approximate value. But most managers keep their mouths shut about it out of respect for the other teams.

Giovani dos Santos is leaving Spurs this month.

Perhaps as a makeweight in a Ba deal? I hope not. Would be fantastic if we could buy him anyway. Imagine this attack:

    Tiote Cabaye
    Ben Arfa Giovani D.S. Jonas
    Ba

    Mmm...

Aye I just don't take offence to that. better to look the man in the eye who is about to stab you in the back, than to not even see him coming!

For those that are saying Redknapp shouldn't have brought up the contract clause, I'd agree with you, but he didn't.
He was asked whether he'd heard of it by a journalist.

Should he have still said nothing?
I think so, but he's far too open with the press most of the time.

Redknapp is known for spouting ****e though.
Would any other manager be asked about it by journalists? I think not.
Redknapp is asked because they know he will talk and that sells papers.
He should be saying out of courtesy I can't comment. Especially since he cried on like a kid with a scraped knee when the papers were selling Modric for him.
Didnt mention much about VDV going to spurs for 8 million a week after an 18 million deal fell through did he?

I wonder if Pardew will give Harry the benefit of the doubt on this one and be so sympathetic.

The man is a c*nt and knows exactly what he is doing.

Try paying your taxes your scumbag.

    F*ck. Off.

Pardew did the same about Maiga, didn't he?
That resulted in the player going on strike.

As for van der Vaart, I'm not sure what your point is.
Redknapp had virtually nothing to do with the deal, like most of our transfers.
Levy asked him if he wanted him and he said yes.
    What's your criticism there?

Can't exactly remember what the deal was with Maiga but was it not somewhere along the lines of we were told to bid x amount, we did then they refused permission to speak?

My criticism there is he didn't say Van Der Vaart's available for £8million. Like he's doing with Ba.
I understand he's looking out for his club and dealing with their best interests, but he has previous in unsettling players, then bitches on when it happens to him.
