Trading in Rangers shares was suspended at lunchtime today as we hadn't filed our accounts by today's midday deadline.

Rangers suspended from stock exchange for failing to file accounts

This fact is hidden in the middle of an official statement on the club website:

    PLUS market statement

Is this as big a deal as the STV article would seem to suggest, or is the club website right to downplay it?

James Godwin - spokesperson for PLUS has just issued a statment saying that, as well as the suspension, they are now going to investigate Whyte's suspension from being a director as this wasn't disclosed at the time of his appointment.

Where's all the "aye Timmy, in your dreams", "ban these muckrakers, Mr Whyte" replies?

On the bottom of the BBC article:

"Aye, we were gonnae leave anyway"

I was under the impression that in December the stock exchange said that that Rangers accounts weren't audited and we had until 31st December or some date to put the audited accounts in, we said they won't be ready until around the 31st January, stock exchange said that we run the risk of having our shares suspended. Et voila.

I don't know what this would mean for Rangers and no news report seems to have any idea either. So i will assume its no big thing unless informed otherwise.

Okay, I'm no tax expert, but surely you can include any such thing under miscellanous as part of your accounts?

I'm no tax expert either, but I think it is more complex than just sticking it under the heading of "miscellanous(sic)"

You know what I mean. Surely the tax return would have it written in somewhere. It's not exactly hard is is?

"Here's our tax report. By the way, in the appendix there's a bit about the HMRC case. Basically if we lose we're ****ed".

ps Stick your (sic) up your arse!

I'm no expert but I suspect Rangers are (to use a technical term) up **** creek, in a leaky canoe, naked, taking on ****e and short of a paddle shaped implement.
