    some points.

    1. I didn't do this last week but want to wish berbs all the best with that work thing he posted.

    2. great draw in the FA cup, another blockbuster to enjoy.

    3. who'd have thought mancini would flog the fa cup by playing a keeper that bad? short sleeves in that weather? no wonder he was so bad <laugh>

    4. scholes? anyone care to admit that smacks of desperation? even a little?

Apart from the error leading to the second goal, Scholes actually played pretty well. HoweverI'll only call it desperation if they don't sign a couple of midfielders this window. They badly need them.

    scholes.

    1. was playing v ten men who looked SHATTERED at 80mins.

    2. scholes hung round his classic position and played it about.. class in his day but hanging round taking the ball off the back 4 and passing it is not going to cut it in a full 90mins situation where he'll be harried.

    3. scholes point is not about the city game but in fact about bringing a youth coach out of retirement 7 months after he left cos your midfield has had so many injures... and this during the transfer window... I mean it has to be seen as a failure to replace him combined with a lot of injures and one fails to see how in the short term even this is going to improve utd.

    4. No amount of kick arounds with the youths will have him at the full fitness that playing would so he cannot be fit... ala gerrard.

    5. agreed that the window is not yet closed so the act cannot be seen as desperate unitl we see how many games he might actually contribute to. If its 4 some some such figure it hardly matters. if its 14 though... I ask the question as its topical.

I'm pretty much in agreement with that lot. However, I think the passing around bit was mainly to avoid city being able to play and possibly score the equaliser. In that respect, it was effective.

    Yeah, me. Happily.

It is a ****ing joke and an absolute embarrassment. I wouldn't mind so much but he was a liability for the last season and a half anyway, six months off won't have made him any ****ing better. If he plays against you lot in the cup it is a guaranteed red card.

I'll bet he scores against us... then never plays again.

I can't see who the guy is mobile enough to play in anything but a 4-5-1 type formation but giggs is not going to go do his running and neither is carrick by the look of him.. How do you see yourselves lining up with him in there? Is this a come on in the last 10 type of thing?

Possibly, the stupid thing is Fergie brought him on immediately after conceding and he gifted them number two, handing them the initiative and impetus which we never got back. It was ridiculous.

He then had to take a striker roff to bolster the midfield, if you can call Anderson that, and we had to defend for the rest of the game which made it look like we were under the cosh. Which we were to be honest.

Fergie then blames the team for sloppiness!!!!

I didn't say they weren't Red, what I was saying was it manifested itself from Fergie's stupid substitution. Ergo, Scholes brought that sloppiness onto the pitch with him.

i personally thought the heavy rain played a part and city looked really shattered at about 75mins in. I did think that utd and city both had chances and that city just lacked a guy in the box. nice free kick, a lot of errors from jones out on the right let city have a lot of thrown ins for example. Rain played a part here.

I thought scholes sat in and passed it about but you had giggs in midfield too and rooney playing very deep so... perhaps not only the sub but the formation after the break didn't help but the game was over any time utd wanted it given how tired city did look. City also kept giving it to lescott and that was mad cos he lumped it away most of the time.

over all conditions played a part, city shot themselves in the foot and in the end Utd have come out of it with a win, another bad draw in the cup (when other sides get home ties v lower league) City have to play us after having the legs run out of them and kompany is banned for 3 games.

All in all i just wish we had city carling cup ties in the next 3 games so we could get an advantage selfishly.

as it stands city play us on wednesday at eastlands without Kompany but then have bloody spurs for the last of the three games. typcial.... <laugh>

andy carroll got ate alive by company, toure is gone as well so now lescott will be the man.... i hope they have tired legs anyway!

That is true - the ball was holding up in the turf a lot especially in the second half. I think that was one of the reasons it got so cagey around the end - no one trusted the ball to run true so ended up just making little passes and trying to keep possession rather than going for a fast break.

If City's appeal goes badly you might get your wish - he could get an extra ban for a frivolous appeal if the FA decide the two footed challenge was definitely an automatic red.
