they rejected the Tony Fernandes offer when they did, if reports are to be believed.

As well as the poor form/results by QPR apparently there has been a fall out between TF & NW over which players to get in the January transfer window. NW was looking at getting the likes of Yakuba (who we know can score goals in the PL & Samba who can defend a bit). However it has been reported that TF wants to get 'Bigger names'!

The obvious question is, and putting to one side what most people think of NW, why does TF think he knows better than a 63 year old, very experienced football manager?

I think we all know he wants QPR to be successful & a big household name (illusions of grandeur?) but to think he knows the best players to get is ridiculous. Had there been even the slightest hint that he intended to do the same at our beloved club then big congratulations must go to Delia & co for rejecting his offer. I suspect the man could be a bit of a megalomaniac and as such could end up destroying QPR or any other team he dares to approach.

While I have no love for QPR, I do think this situation has the potential to end in bitter tears.

It didn't take him (TF) long to make his presence felt!

He makes Robert Chase look like an angel!

Certainly looks like he starting to nail his colours to the mast and the honeymoon period is well and truly over.

Maybe he felt Colin had embarrssed his club enough after his pathetic, childish rant last week and figured enough was enough?

    Maybe.....

Something Colin actually got right. Big names don't make a good team. But aren't yakubu and samba big enough names?

Poor QPR, with Faurlin out for the season (confirmed), their midfield looks dire, without Barton

Cast your minds back when we were "the laughing stock" for selecting lower league players like Pilkington, Bennett, Johnson, Morrison and the R's were making "brilliant signings" like SWP, Dyer, DJ Campbell...who have been fairly irrelevant this season.

At least we now can predict with a certain degree that QPR (they find it hard enough to score goals, and without Faurlin they are SCREWED) will finish below us this season, now for just 2 more teams to step up and jump off the cliff like lemmings...

My only issue with that theory is that a new manager will come in, and they'll probably get that honeymoon period which most managers get where they pick up a couple of unexpected results, and that galvanises them into working as a unit, which keeps them going. I still think we've got enough in hand now mind, but still, I think they might survive relegation just yet.

What, Keiron "six minutes of magic" Dyer?
Surely he has to be a shoe-in for Player of the Year after the way he started this season ;)

Over the summer QPR signed this motley bunch: SWP, Barton, Dyer, Campbell, Bothroyd, Gabbidon, Young, Traore and Ferdinand.

They made two pretty big mistakes. One, they signed nine players, that's practically a whole new team, and then they wonder why they haven't gelled as a unit straight away. Two, they went for the names rather than talent. If all these guys were such brilliant Premier League quality players why did their teams let them go and why was no-one else interested in them? Yes, most of our squad had little interest shown in them, but they were untried at this level, QPR's squad have all been there and failed before.

Just heard that TF tweeted the other day "failure is not an option, if we fail then I may have to explore different avenues"

The mistakes you outline are actually almost exactly the same as those made by Worthington last time we went up. Ashton excepted (and he arrived too late anyway), the signings made last time seemed really good on paper... Bentley, Helveg, Jonsson, Charlton, Doherty (Good at L1 level!!), Safri (Probably the pick of the bunch, but not THAT good)....

All those guys came either from PL clubs or from top flights abroad. We all know what happened there.

EDIT: Actually, Safri came from Coventry, think they had been in the champ for a year or two when we signed him....
