Encouragement and from whom ? i would say that NP is just a very desperate sad man who is under great pressure. The more he carrys this on the less likely he is of getting anyone. By all accounts Billy Sharp wont be rushing to go there either yet. Now that Neil Warnock is available NP should be looking at his own position first. 0-0 @ Forest for petes sake. How bad is that ? :emoticon-0114-dull: Love it.

I don't think Donny would accept the Leicester offer without first talking to Sharp to make sure he was interested, so I expect he's on his way.

Well so far all lesta have made are silly offers. Tell them they can have him for 10 million that should shut them up.

I think what comes out of this, is that AP is making a statement which is clear to all. NB is being backed, but NB will know if a big bid came in for CS, then if he felt that he could use that money to strengthen the overall squad, then at this point they may well consider the situation. Basically as far as I read it, it will come down largely to NB decision.

Dean Saunders has said on SSN thats it far from a done deal. Maybe this bid will flush out any PL offers for Sharp. Wigan - Balckburn and Bolton to name but 3 need a goal scorer and 3 million is nowt to them. If they do come down then they have a championship proven goal scorer on there books. SSN also reported on saturday night that Sharp had said he wont rush anything. other bids may follow. Decide in haste - repent at leisure should be on Sharps mind. Why rush ?

I've been wondering about that, Sharp/his agent haven't jumped in and gone straight to talks with Lesta. Maybe they are hoping for another bid.

Thats my take on this as well. If Sharp has not signed for Lesta by the end of the week i would suggest that it wont happen.

Sharp was at Leicester yesterday to discuss personal terms, there's always a chance someone will come in and hijack the deal, but otherwise I think he's gone now.

it will be interesting to see who else Nigel pearson gets rid of as a result of Sharp's signing. Who is gonna take Beckford and his present contract?

Lesta appear stuck with Beckford. No PL team will go for him and he is way to expensive for the Championship. One other factor. Sharp may have asked his old strike mate Beckford what NP is like. That could also kill the deal. I also wonder if Beckford is Lestas Bullard ?

If it is true that Mr Allam has said no one will go to Lesta on any account then all power to him for this statement.N Pearson has looked like a fool coming back to us with these derisory offers. He should understand that by walking away from City like he did, he burned his boats and the Allams wont forget that in a hurry.

I think Nigel Pearson's continuous efforts to sign Stewart have as much to do with bitterness as they have to do with genuine interest. Judging by his statements and body language since leaving he is clearly holding a grudge and I think these silly bids are designed to destabilise the player as much as anything.
None of us know exactly what was said when AP and Mr Allam scuppered his attempt to engineer a smooth transition from City to Leicester, but there now seems to be no love lost between the three. I imagine he was very uncomfortable at being made to squirm under the media spotlight that he hates and he has also lost his 'loyal manager' image.

I agree, thank God that all Pearson's aren't the same.

To be fair Sir Adam must have felt really let down by NP at the time that he requested permission to talk to Leicester, as I always got the feeling, possibly wrongly, that he thought they had a bit of a bond.

Two people that I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of are certainly AP and AA, yet he appears to have done it in one fell swoop!

did he ever actually say that? i think it was more words to the effect: "Leicester might be reluctant to come back as they know who are dealing with?"

Assem has told AP he doesn't want to do business with Leicester on any player, at any price.
