    Snoopy stirring **** again.

    http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/tra...underland-and-QPR-interest-article851318.html

Harry Redknapp has sparked a massive transfer scramble for Newcastle’s Demba Ba by revealing his release clause is around HALF the £10million mooted over the weekend.

Officials at St James’ Park have been desperate to keep a lid on the fact that the striker, who has netted 15 times this season, is available for the right fee.

But asked about a £10m release clause, Spurs boss Harry Redknapp said: “I think you will find it is a lot less than that.”

Asked if was as little as £7m, Redknapp added: “Even less than that.”

Its such a cheap way to try and unsettle a player. Remember what he had to say about Chelsea when they were after Modric? Double standards.

Oh and Everton, QPR and even the unwashed are mentioned in that article as 'needing reinforcements up front'. What could Ba do at those clubs that he cant do here? I doubt that any of those three would pay better than us either.

He will sign a new contract here im sure, but thats so Ashley can sell him for much more than what ever his release clause is for (less than 7m) probably either in the summer or next January.

EDIT : Yeah this has already been posted, I've only just seen the other thread due to people bumping about 15 threads from last january.

Surely any supposed release clauses should be confidential? Agents shouldn't be allowed to leak them to other clubs.

Bullshit. I could almost believe that he had a release clause of 10m, but this takes the piss.

It's a ****ing joke this, Redknapp clearly sees us as a threat so has to rock the boat. How is he allowed to say **** like this but get away with telling a reporter to "**** off" just because they suggested he's a "wheeler dealer"?

This is hard evidence proving that Harry Redknapp, the media darling, cheeky cockney chappy, is in fact a "wheeler dealer"... A **** stirrer... A massive ****.

it can be his only motive if he doesn't want to buy him he wants to destabilise our position as european contenders. if spurs were to go on a bad run and suddenly we found ourselves competing for a europa spot then it could prove to be real bad financially for spurs to not get in at our expense. its unlikely obvioulsy but he obvioulsy doesn't want to run the risk.

It was wrong for Redknapp to talk about it but do you think his agent hasn't 'leaked' this information to any interested parties anyway.

I think he just wants to buy Ba. XD

Sounds strange considering he already has defoe, pav, adebayor, VDV, giovani. Where does BA fit in?!???

It looks highly likely that Pavlyuchenko will leave in this transfer window.
If Levy could sell him on and get Ba for less, then it's virtually a no-brainer, isn't it?

Dos Santos may move on too, but he's more of a winger anyway and Redknapp's got very little time for him.

We can't really moan about clubs knowing about release clauses etc. It would highly hypocritical. Cabayes and Dembas release clauses should have been unknown when we signed them , yet we somehow knew about them. We're as bad as anyone else and all the clubs are at it.

We just need to learn to not react to paper talk around this time of year. If Demba wants to stay, he'll stay, if Demba wants to go he'll go. That is how football works now. I'm pretty confident the lad will be happy with his lot at present and the club will move quickly should he have a clause. The key to keeping him is to show him we're a progressive club with our league position and signings etc. At present we are and I see no reason for him to jump ship so soon. He is only 26. Of course if a big gun comes calling he may be tempted, but that was ust the same when we signed him. If we lose him cheaply to some release clause then Ashley and co would have to put that down as bad business on their part. I can't see a man so obessessed with the green just allowing himself to be pumped like that.

Of course old saggy face is not adverse to doing a bit unsettling and its a bit frustrating but he just does it a bit more openly through the media. If we're all sitting here thinking we are not tapping these agents etc and we're whiter than white, then we really do need our heads checked. I think we should all just relax, what will be will be.

The difference with us though is that we didn't go around shouting about it in the press; the Cabaye deal was done quietly and with respect to Lille. I might be wrong, but there's nothing untoward about doing a bit of digging and finding a release clause is there? They're there for a reason, after all.

Truly a most odious creature, him and his bastard son. He's basically given teams carte blanche to invade our borders as it were.

Part of me actually wants him to get the England job and fail miserably, just so the love-in can stop. That's the measure of my hate for the man.

Theres ways and means though. he's publicly stating it which will then destabilise the player, club and fans. he knows what he's doing when he says such things. a ****er he may be but an idiot he's not. there would be no point in there being clauses in contracts if people didn't ultimately know about them. but he's got an agenda when he come out and says stuff like that to the press. he could've just said he's having a great season and fair play to pards for taking a chance on him when no one else wanted to. the contract clause just didn't need to be mentioned at all.
