Not Saints related but I thought Ferguson had lost the plot when I saw Scholes on the bench today. However just saw his stats from the half hour he played - He made 71 passes (97% complete), more than any Man City player in the entire game. He's still got it.
He also gave the ball away that led to a City goal! was only on for half an hour and was also playing against ten men which by rights you should be able to keep the ball against! He was a great player but not no more imo.
He made that one mistake, he's not match fit. Give him to the end of Jan and he'll be back on form. Still the most technically gifted CM in the country.
get your dick out his arse. it shows how bad man utd are that they have to bring some one out of retirement at 37. and yeah he gave the ball away for the goal.
He did retire too early, but does show there are some problems at ManU. I wonder what will happen when Ferguson retires.
Scholes was always over-rated, just like Giggs. Just a case of right time, right place, right team-mates. They are both good, but not greats (apart from for Man U fans). Neither did **** all for their countries.
Oh CBK, got to disagree. Scholes is the best 'touch' footballer we've had for years. The reason he was not great for England was the dosey Swedish muppet who played him out of position.
he completed 97% of 71 passes, but as most of them were 5 yarders in the middle of the park, I guess that was not too difficult.
I do rate Scholes as a player. I'm sure he would walk into most teams in his prime. The thing I didn't like was his dreadful tackling that he often got away with..sycophants would say,'Just typical Scholsey.' I'm sure after all his years playing football, he knew exactly what he was doing as he scythed down yet another player.
possibly, but born out of injury problems rather than anything else. Fergie said (and I believe it), the players available for him to sign in January window from teams who would sell to United aren't any better than what he has so he went back to someone who he knows exactly what he can and can't do. Fairly sensible really. I wonder if Mickey Channon wants a game?
