What MON will discover in time, is that Sess CAN play as a striker, but only in a 442 and not a 451 formation. Where yous lot are getting 460 from is beyond me.

aye looks that way, he is a fantastic player but i was frustrated as **** when great balls were getting whipped in today and they was just nobody there at all when we have the likes of wickham/ji/noble on the bench.

let the past stay in the past eh? :)

When Bruce done it against Brighton in the League Cup, everyone that night before, during and after the game, was saying wtf 4-6-0, what is he playing at and sess was up front.

that is where the 4-6-0 comes from because, well sess was up front by himself again just like that game.

BTW I thought Catts, Gardner, McLean were our outstanding players today, but Catts just nicked MOTM for me.

The whole point is, no one on here thinks sess is a striker, but a midfielder, so 4-6-0, come on its not hard.

Weather Sess is a striker, midfielder, or a defender...if he's played up front by himself it's 4-5-1. I honestly can't see where you're coming from.
You could play 4 4 2 with a goalie and ten defenders on the pitch, though, naturally, some would be playing out of position!

Whoa!!!.....calm down!......but if you look back at your 1st post, you'll see that it was indeed your good self who incorrectly mentioned that we played 4-6-0 :)

    Yeah...I just read it:

Steve Bruce, Do the honourable thing and resign...

Sunderland: Westwood, Elmohamady, Richardson, Brown, Ferdinand, Vaughan, Larsson, Cattermole (C), Colback, Gardner, Sessegnon.

he is playing sess up front man wtf
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So...it says he is playing Sess up front. I honestly can't see where youre coming from. If ANYONE plays alone up front, the formation will be 4-5-ONE!!
By your reasoning, we must have played 2-6-2 v Man City, as we had Colback and Gardener playing at fullback

crying out loud, you read the first post, its 27 pages long.

    My point was.

When Bruce played the same formation, 2 hours before kick off, there was hell on, on this very forum, so much so it led to those 27 pages and a lot of members saying he was playing 4-6-0.

So why on earth when MON does exactly the same thing, everyone was quiet (well most) and it certainly didnt turn into 27 pages (even though it might at this rate, just me explaining it lol).

I DO get what you are saying, but you dont seem to have a clue what i am saying, I never came up with the 4-6-0, that was someone else in the other thread (or the other 6 threads that were posted that day), I was being sarcastic, as like i said I was a Bruce In until he was sacked.

I know what you're saying, but the fact is that tonight, AND against Brighton, we played 4-5-1. I know there were lots of posts mentioning 4-6-0, but thats the nature of the beast!...someone mentions something and a lot of people will follow suit. The actual OP's post even said that we played with Sess up front!
I think a lot of fans were that pissed off with Steve Bruce, that they used the 4-6-0 formation as a stick to beat him with! We actually finished that game playing 4-3-3 :)

I think what MON will have learned from this game is that Sess can only play as a striker in a 4-4-2 formation....but not as a lone frontman in a 4-5-1.

To be honest the difference is tha a MON side does not have a fixed formation. His team plays in a much more fluid style with the midfielders getting forward. Under Bruce the team was static and if put in a position you stayed there so the formation played at swansea would never work but the "same " played yesterday did.

It is the same arguement we have made that MON get morew out of player than Bruce ever did. He sets the team up and lets them play.

I see what you're saying Washy....4-5-1 when we haven't got the ball, and changing to 4-3-3 when we have. I think thats fine if you have a good target man, but for me it doesn't work with Sess...who can only play the striker role effectively in a 4-4-2.
