http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/qpr-specials/next-permanent-manager Odds on Zola are shortening. Can't say I'm happy about that. Nice guy and all but...
Er, why does he need to go anywhere? He's more than happy at Carra Rud for the time being and whilst I don't dispute for a second if the Spurs job became available he'd definitely consider that, but it's not as if he's desperate to leave a club that he is incredibly happy and proud to currently manage with a squad of players that he has built who would crawl over broken glass for him is it?
He might very well be happy at Carrow Road, I'm sure he was very happy at Colchester too!!! However, don't be naive to think that he wouldn't go to a bigger club for more money and money to spend at the drop of a hat. I'm not saying that's us but I'd be amazed if he's still with you guys at the start of next season!!!
We are a Prem team based in London with one of the World's richest men involved. Why would we settle for a Chelsea / Fulham reject?
Yeah I'm underwhelmed, so he didn't **** up Roy's team and then he left Fulham cos he didn't think they were big enough for him. If he joins us and manages to keep us up he'll be at Newcastle by Christmas. Zola was shight at West Ham and Clarke the brains of the outfit is now at Liverpool. If we get him then we know TF's just in it to give his Hammers mates a laugh!
Hughes certainly didn't cover himself in glory at Fulham when he left but i'm not really bothered now. It was poor taste yes and you wouldn't expect it but so be it. He actually in my view had us playing some very good football. Least we forget we were bottom 3 at xmas, thumped 3-1 at home by WHU and many calling for his head. However he overcame this and we became difficult to beat again. Always has a better second half to the season mind you. Did well to keep hold of Schwarzer from Arsenal, very good purchase in Mousa Dembele and a horid buy in Carlos Salcido. I dont think it would be a bad move but he has this reputation now self inflicted of course but it remains, is he waiting for the Chelsea job is always in my mind.
Very true froggo. If I were a Norwich fan i'd take it as a very good compliment that he's mentioned so frequently. Your lucky to have such a good manager.
Thank you Col, 100% with you on that. Mark Hughes' managerial casefile: Wales "When he had taken over Wales were going through a bad patch, but in the five years with Hughes in charge Wales came close to qualifying for Euro 2004. In their qualifying group Wales beat Italy—only to be denied a place in the final tournament after losing to Russia in the playoffs." Wikipedia That is some achievement considering their history. Blackburn "His key aim was to keep Blackburn clear of relegation which he succeeded in doing, whilst also taking the club to an FA Cup semi-final for the first time in over 40 years. In his second season, Blackburn surprised even the most optimistic supporters by finishing inside the top six of the Premier League and qualifying for the UEFA Cup, beating teams such as Chelsea, Manchester United (twice) and Arsenal along the way. After just missing out on the League Cup final, his team sealed their spot in Europe by defeating champions Chelsea 1–0 at home. Hughes then set about creating a formidable side at Ewood Park. He entered the transfer market, bringing in players such as Benni McCarthy (£2 million), David Bentley (£500,000), Ryan Nelsen (free), Stephen Warnock (£1.5 million), Roque Santa Cruz (£3.5 million), and Christopher Samba (£400,000). Rovers finished 10th in the Premier League in 2006–07, and reached the UEFA Cup round of 32, where they were knocked out by Bayer Leverkusen 3–2 on aggregate. Rovers faced Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final, their third consecutive semi-final since Hughes took charge. The match ended in defeat 2–1. He won the October 2007 Award for the Premier League Manager of the Month, and eventually led Blackburn to a league finish of 7th in 2007–08, Hughes' final season in charge at Ewood Park. During his spell in charge of Blackburn, Hughes' side was accused of being "over-physical" and "dirty" on multiple occasions[22][23][24] and the club finished bottom of the Premier League disciplinary table in all four of Hughes' seasons in charge." Wikipedia What he did at Blackburn seem to be forgotten by the masses. What have been of Blackburn before and after Hughes speaks for itself. Only negative is the disciplinary records, but it got them results, which we badly need at the moment.
