I think the problem here is people's interpretation of the word "great". For me, Scholes is a great, Vieira is a great. But that's my opinion.

You're on a real crest of a wave and look well organised, whilst currently McLean and more consistently Larrson provide attacking ability on the wings, but I'm not sure you're THAT strong just yet...

We've lost Ba and it will hurt us, but who do you full stop? Bendtner is overrated, Ji doesn't look a proper threat yet and Wickham is still too young and inexperienced. Best hasn't scored as many but he's been playing as Ba's workman, doing all the dirty work for him! Out of Best's 10 starts this season, we've won 7! Shola is a donkey but he is always good against you

We've lost Tiote, but for me Cabaye is equally as good if not a little better (his distribution is unreal) and with Guthrie, despite what Tash says, we have an able player who will do a decent job, nothing more. With Abeid and Vuckic we have our own McLeans so to speak (if you haven't already, take a look at Vuckic's efforts in the recent game against WBA - unreal!)

Aside from that we're not really weakened and so it'd be a good, tough game, far from the walk over that you seem to have initially implied!

    So basically...

No one knows who would win.

Newcastle aren't a two man team.

& Tash alone thinks that Guthrie is a great player. I bet he loved Carlton Palmer.

I'll be honest even with my biased black and white specs on, I'm glad the derby is 2 months away, we'll have Ba and Tiote back (if we haven't sold em) and possibly a few new'ns in the Jan Market...We're 2 or 3 players off from having the 6th/7th best starting 11 in the Prem IMO, but then you could always bring in a striker (the only glaringly obvious weak spot in your team) so if everyone's fit its got the potential to be one of the most strongly contested derby in years!

So did I. But I'm **** at predictions, and would be happy just to get to the 5th round, given our recent FA Cup record, then take it from there!

Remember the last promotion season, I think it was, when we beat West Brom and he claimed they would still finish above us ?!

Yeah of course you did Mowbray !

Hopefully we are all going to have to get used to recognising that we both have decent teams. I watch you lot against Man Utd and if you play like that every week I wouldn't want to play you. We have one of the best defences in the league and despite people saying we need a striker we are scoring lots of goals at the moment and they are coming from everywhere. It's good to be slinging insults among the top ten, far too often we are at the bottom end. I don't think we are out of the woods yet but hopefully by the end of January we will have bannished any relegation issues (which is remarkable when you look at where we were 6 games ago!)

So you come on to the Sunderland board to post this - which is neither witty nor informative

and then you have the temerity to bitch and 'facepalm' comments when people insult you?

What did you think you would achieve with this little nugget of banality?

b.t.w. don't you think it's somewhat premature writing Brighton or Wrexham off just yet... away game against teams who will really be up for it? Just imagine if this particular comment comes back to bite you.

There is no such thing as an easy draw in the cup. This has been shown time and time again over the years. I am sure last season many of you thought you had an easy draw in the 3rd round and were looking forward to the 4th round before the game had even started. To be fair I am sure many of our supporters thought the same thing when we got a home draw with Notts County. I am certain I don't have to remind any of you what happened that awful day.

Was getting confused myself there commachio thought I'd dreamt we were playing Boro next.
By no stretch of the imagination an easy game for us although we should have the advantage of being at home after that it's anyones guess as to the result. Boro are doing fine in the fizzy pop a couple of blips but still in there with the push for promotion.

Just seems it got over took on the merits of ****ing newcastle....

Mind someone has destroyed their board, by bumping thread after thread from eons ago, and now it's ****e.

As for Boro, it'll be a good but tough game, and pure carnage of field...
