West Brom (away) What a match! We have more than a chance here! The horror draws are Liverpool vs. Man Utd, QPR/MK vs. Chelsea Cup run is back on the cards!
WBA away is such a boring tie though. Would have been nicer to get one of the big sides at FCR or an away day at a minnow, just for the fun day out.
'more than a chance?' you've got to be kidding mate, WBA are a well organised difficult team to beat. Are you forgetting the match at Carra Rud earlier in the season ? To be honest, it couldn't have been much more difficult if you ask me ..... It also means we have to play them away twice in as many weeks, isn't it strange how the FA Cup does this so often with the fixture lists? Anyway, I'd swap victory in the FA Cup for a victory in the Premier League, as I'm sure most Canary fans would, make no mistake ! OTBC ... CTI ... ILWT
I would tend to agree that we have a good chance of progressing. Sure, WBA are generally a decent outfit but look at the table and you will see that their home form is poor. They have lost 6 out of 10 and only scored 7 goals at home in the League all season. Also remember that Chris Brunt is out for the forseeable future which will be a big blow for them. We're capable of getting a draw at least. I agree that the league is the priority but it's been a very long time since we had a good run in the Cup.
One thing you're forgetting though Sim, WBA away is a bogey fixture for us ...................... Hang on though, so was 1p5wich away until PL arrived on the scene ! ...
Agreed. Shame Ipswich aren't still in the draw. Would have been great to have thrashed them in the Cup as well!
Seriously, I just don't get all this doom-mood mindset @ a cup run... We are in a great position in the PL, nothing is going wrong atm with respects to the fans/managers/players/financial/board, please give me a reason we can't beat WBA? Our away form has been magnificent compared to many of our rivals, under PL the "history argument of bogey teams" is fairly irrelevant, this is our best chance recently to go on a cup run!! Look at the confidence that our win vs burnley will give the lads, that they thrashed a team which was in the same league last year, shows just how much they have acheived as a squad and individuals since...
And we know now that Lambert is not one for fielding an under-strength team (short of natural rotation). He wants his 2nd piece of silverware in his 3rd season. WBA is a hard tie but [**cliché alert**] there are no easy games in the Cup.
As mentioned above we now play WBA twice in quick succession, the good news from that is - it is not very normal for one team to win both games in this scenario. So we have a chance of 3 points or a victory in the cup (maybe!) I know which I would take and it's not the cup run
