Opinion on Warnock's managerial and tactical ability in the PL has clearly changed for the worse, if the contributors to this site represent a fair cross section of Rs support (which I think is the case). In many respects I think history will point to the signing of Barton as being the turning point in the fans' affection for him (Warnock), as this very much divided opinion at the time and arguably has been the catalyst for a number of adverse episodes that have tipped the scales away from the manager.

There is rarely any smoke without fire. Whether the Telegraph's report is 100% on the money or not, we have poor perfomances, a precarious league position, underperforming 'star' players, fan unrest and Fernandes' own semi-cryptics Twats (if that's the correct past tense for Tweets?)... plus a short, finite period of opportunity that is the transfer window to make changes with the most realistic chance of success.

If not the end, I'd say this is the beginning of the end for Warnock.

"Now this is not the end, it is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning..."

Sums up the first half of the season...

    "Neil Warnock facing QPR axe

    08 January 2012 - 13:23 GMT, by Samuel Turnbull

According to several reports, Queens Park Rangers manager Neil Warnock faces the axe this week, as Malaysian billionaire owner Tony Fernandes has grown frustrated with the poor form of his team in recent weeks.

It comes as some surprise though, as only yesterday Warnock insisted that he needs to bring in five new faces to guarantee safety for the London side. That may well have been the final straw for Fernandes though, who has already ploughed over 10m GBP into the club.

A terrible run of defeats has seen Fernandes' patience run out, and the QPR chief is desperate to retain Premier League status next year.

Early names linked with a move to QPR are Steve Bruce and Bryan Robson."

Bryan Robson? Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha (ad infintum)...

Thought that was perhaps out of Barton's little red book - not the case, actually Sir Winston Churchill, speech in November 1942

Give our current situation, this one also comes to mind:-

"We shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender, and if, which I do not for a moment believe, this island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the British Fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in God's good time, the new world, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old."
