Am I the only one who doesn't see this as a disaster, what about Vauxhall Motors?! We haven't won in the FA cup for 11 years, it's hardly something new. I know the performance was ****e but only a few were starting teams. Keep the Faith, the only proper **** part was Ali getting injured COYR's
Things can turn on situations like that last minute goal. Hopefully the team will have more belief now. A replay is good, another chance to bed in new players - plus (for me at least) joey misses this instead of another league game. Fingers crossed our luck has changed at last
Definitely good about barton missing the reply instead of another league game...and now just to hope we'll have some new players in the squad who need bedding in during this game...
There are still a few of us with sane minds and a memory that remembers what Warnock has done for us and just how far we've come. Can't believe that we have so many fickle small minded fans. How many days did Warnock have to build the team, 4-5? Want someone to blame, how about the ****ers who sold us 3 games in to the season, when there was a buyer (Amit/Mittal) wanting it since last season. They well and truly screwed us. But Warnock? We would be in league 1 if it want for him. Even if we are relegated it wouldn't be his fault!
I'm glad that it's not all doom and gloom. This FA Cup facup is no different from all the ones from the last decade and NW can only be blamed for the last 2. He did say that he'd make an effort at this (after the Carling cup debacle) but, with the way things have gone, I can't really say it would be my priority in this situation. I will still state that my faith in NW is unerring. Truly worried about Ali though.
Yes, things are not great but I for one am going to hold my fire for the moment. Lets see what happens with incoming players and give NW a chance. Doesnt he deserve it? I don't think we're that far away from correcting what we all know is a leaky, unsettled defense coupled with lack of bite up front. Lets see who he gets in and how he re-organises the team, then judge him.
But he did sign 5 decent players 4 months ago to go with a championship winning team. I don't think he can cut it at this level but I won't say sack him now because I don't have a solution. I'll leave that to TF.
Replay may be good for giving new signings a run out before Wigan as well. Although I'm starting to worry about NW I think changing the man in charge now could be very damaging, however if its true and the dressing room aren't behind him anymore then I don't know what other option there is. All will be rosier when we beat the Toon next week.
You can't have a pop at Neil for his signings pre-season. They are good players. However only Young and Traore (to acertain degree) and Ferdinand (to a certain degree) have actualy played well. You can have a pop at some of Neil's tactics and, maybe, his inability to get the best out of what he's got. All the crap about "losing he dressing room" is complete bollocks. These are professionals, paid (far too much) to do a job. If he goes and they say "he lost the dressing room" it will only be an excuse to cover them not doing their job properly.
well said "All the crap about "losing he dressing room" is complete bollocks. These are professionals, paid (far too much) to do a job. If he goes and they say "he lost the dressing room" it will only be an excuse to cover them not doing their job properly. "
I agree with the sentiments....but it's the way of things these days. Lose the players....lose your job. Right or wrong, it's what happens I'm afraid!
Well said! Let's concentrate on each game as it comes starting with the Toon next week. A solid performance from everyone is needed!
If no new recruits before the Newcastle game, this weakened side should still be able to make a reasonable account of themselves. If Kenny not 100% would stick with Cerny, who has proved to be a great shot stopper, although he flaps around with crosses. Orr, Connolly, Bothroyd, DJ on the bench? Would have preferred to see the cup replay scheduled for next Tues, rather than 48 hrs after the Newcastle game, which is followed by the vital Wigan six pointer (at least at home).
