Mackie, get him back there hustling and breaking up the play. His distribution won't be as good, but Faurlins wasn't that great anyway. At least Mackie won't get knocked off the ball so easily. Actually, that's not such a sad situation anyway.
Excellent précis - agree 100% - covered every point that I wanted to make. A very dissatisfying display - absolutely no desire, and a distinct lack of craft or movement. As many around me opined, millionaire players earning huge salaries should need no further incentive. Whilst Warnock has worked miracles getting us up, the players are making him look very tactically naive. What to do?
You just cant sack a manager at this time regardless. If you're in the position where its even an option you need the man who knows what the problems are to sort it out. To fire Warnock would only cause further problems. If you were to fire him it was around a month ago where the new gaffer could see what he needed to change however there wasn't a problem a month ago...funny how things change.
Where is a new "creative midfielder" coming from? Anyone even remotely creative available, even for a price?
Great read, col. Written with head and heart. Desperate days. I'm glad at least you were able to enjoy Mrs rangercol's shepherd's pie. Hope Mrs NW had something equally as comforting for NW when he got home. TF and AB must be holding crisis meetings soon. I'm sorry it's turning out like this
Wow! Another great OP Col. Hugely informative overview. Some sparks in the thread but actually, take Faulin out of the group analysis and we're all seeing and reacting to the same picture. (Ruislip: you talk absolute sense mate but be careful never to criticise Ali when Col's around - unless you're up for a bit of fun!) Agree with both Ruislip and Eamon. A creative mid is an absolute must but where to find one within a couple of weeks? Nothing obvious in this league. Probably need to look for a prospect in the lower leagues or foreign. Such omission from NW's shopping list is just further evidence of the gaffer's shortcomings. The need for a (goal-scoring and supplying) midfield General is less a comment about Taarabt but more about Buz really. He's had his chances this year and last and it's not happening is it? What happens if AT decides to try his luck (and load his bank balance) in Qatar or similar? Last but by no means least. Shepherd's Pie. Mmmm... haven't had that for years. Just put in a request to the kitchen and got told to **** off! Can I come round to your's next time it's on the menu? Promise not to mention Ali Faurlin!!!
You're more than welcome mate. MrsRangercol might find it a bit strange when I say "I've invited someone off the internet round for dinner!!". Thanks for the compliment on the article. I tried to make it as honest and calm as possible. With regards to Ali...I can see his shortcomings, of course I can. I just can't accept it when people say things like "he can't tackle" and "he can't pass" when he's near the top of the Premier League ratings for both!! Anyway, I think we all have a lot more to worry about than whether Faurlin can play or not, although we may miss him a lot imo if that injury is as bad as it looked!!
Myself and Col have been agreeing quite a lot recently, worrying or just a sign of the times.Maybe Mrs Col could sell the pie online, nice little biz oppurtunity.
