Like it has being said numerous times, we have no intention of dealing with Leicester, or selling any of our players unless they are for huge amounts. There is no way Nick Barmby would agree to a permanant deal if he knew the basis of his team was going to be sold in January.
You have to remember you signed him a year ago for around 300K. He hasnt played alot of football since then to warrant a massive price tag. Around 2M would be fair but because of the inflated market and the fact the 2 clubs arent on the best of term i reckon it will cost alot more then that
He's only 20 though with a long contract and he's got huge potential. What does it matter how much we payed for him? That was a bargain
well bidding competition hasnt started yet. Unfortunately, i suspect by the time 2 or 3 clubs join the clamour, he may well be gone by end January in order to fund more activity for us. £4 million could be too much to resist!
You need to remember thats why Nigel paid then and he wont be prepared to pay massive now. I think we would need to offer around 2.5M before the clubs even start to talk about a deal
FWIW I think we might be after Hammill to plug the gap when he is sold for silly money... No smoke without fire. If so, NB will be happy to take the cash and the player swap and will have endorsed it. Either that, or he aint going anywhere! Can't see anything other than the above two options, as I'm sure the club have already made the decision and are now either after as much as possible, or sitting back watching Lesta and laughing.
We'd want £3m for Rosenior or Koren and they didn't cost us anything, the price paid is completely irrelevant. It's good that they're bidding low, it makes the bids easy to ignore, I'll only be concerned if they ever place a decent bid.
Do you think if you do get Hammill you will be more open to letting Stewart go or do you think you will only sell for a massive offer
I bought a car two years ago for not a lot of money , 400 quid, I have fine tuned that car and got it as it was as new , I've just been offered 4grand for it ( I declined the offer) just because I didn't pay a lot for it doesn't mean I should have taken the offer, to replace My car with the same spec car of similar condition and quality would cost5 or 6k to replace . stewart to replace with a similar quality player would cost 5 million, so regardless of what we paid that's what you should expect to pay Liar
Hammill is being brought in to play on the opposite side to Stewart and is to replace players on the 'out' list, rather than a player we want to keep, so I don't think it will make any difference at all. I also think that for Leicester to sign any of our players, they'll have to pay at least £1m more than anyone else would have to pay. Our owner is very stubborn and doesn't like you very much, I don't think he's any intention of selling you anyone, unless it's for far more than the player is worth and you're nowhere near that level at the moment.
Yeah thats what i think, with Nigel your owner pretty much had his hands tied and couldnt really stop him but with a player the club has alot more control, but even then if the player starts to rock the boat you need to get rid of them. I think we should just ask what Hull want and either offer it or dont
