prepares to wield axe http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...-as-Tony-Fernandes-prepares-to-wield-axe.html It sad, after everything we have been through with Neil and it has come to this
Question is....if NW goes early next week can the club maintain discussions with regard to Samba, Alex etc or do they wait for a new man to be bedded in and pick the players that he wants??
Is there anyone out there who is better? O'neil was the only one I could think of. Curbs has been out for so long and don't think he is dynamic enough to bring the impact we need. Mark Hughes would want his own players and it may be too late to get them even if they were available. Disappointing to see Norwich and Swansea score 4 with the nucleus of the team that was promoted, yet we need another 4 or 5 players before we can score 2.
Last thing you need when looking to recruit new quality players is doubt over who the manager will be for the rest of the season. No player will sign if this doesn't get cleared up immediately!!!
TF has to make the decision within the next 48 hours. Once he allows Neil to spend millions there is no turning back for at least a month or two. If things don't turn round with new signings on board then it will be twice as difficult for any new manager to pull us out of the mire.
If Fernandes doesn't already know what he is going to do I'd be very disappointed, but as you say Eamon, it must be now. Personally I think it is already too late to change the manager with regard to new signings, we will end up trying to sign the players that no one else wanted just like in August.
O'Neill's done well with Bruce's signings at Sunderland. It's not difficult to see what we need, and quality is quality. If we can get the Samba's, Hoilett's and Yakubu's, a new manager could so something with them in Feb. I'm sure TF is looking at his options and preparing for NW's possible exit (as Cerny predicted) but I'm not sure he'll pull the trigger just yet... Edit - Just read that some senior players have fallen out with NW. If that's true, then he could be on his way...
Bang on. This makes it so much more frustrating and another reason why i just can't back Neil anymore. If they were both in the relegation spots then fine. But we're miles behind on the pitch yet we won the league in a canter last season and added five experienced premiership players who would walk into the first XI at most clubs. Wtf??
Agreed with what O Neil did and that was without any signings. Warnock is taking us for mugs, he said we played superb yesterday. Its no surprise we looked good with the new players but Warnock has managed to turn them into poor players within a couple of months. Playing SWP on the left is an example. I could handle it if things were slowly improving but they are not, things are getting worse and getting more players wont solve that.
I said towards the end of last season that if you take out Taarabt, we were only an average team that would struggle to make the top 6. We were incredibly reliant on him. Well we are without Taraabt now, effectively anyhow, and despite some strengthening by NW, we are being shown up. We need to further strengthen defence, add to offensive midfielders and get decent strikers to work with HH.
is this story true all just media talk if he is to go do it now and get a new man in time is not on our side
We cannot afford sentiment, he needs to be replaced, sad but we cannot go on like this, no matter who he decides to bring in the tactics and mood will not change.
This. The most prescient thing said all weekend. A big couple of days on the Rangers Rollercoaster beckon
Fantasy island posters reckon hes been sacked today....expect him to last until the end of the season then. NW showed no sentiment in replacing Agyemang, Derry, Hill with DJ, Barton, Traore etc. There should be no sentiment in replacing the manager.
