Agreed Gera. If Bobby's game against Arsenal is a sign of what to expect, get him a contract extension!
I'm now hoping that Bobby stays, someone else (Gignac? Maynard? - I'm not too keen on the idea of Lopez, although that one seems to be stalling) comes in and then Bobby will probably move on in the summer. I don't think he's the long-term future, and I think the thing with him and Jol is unlikely to be a lasting peace. If he can be here to help smooth the transition to a younger first choice centre forward, that's probably the best solution for the club. Bobby has been one of my favourite Fulham players in recent years, but I suspect that the clock is running down on his time. Whether he has months or weeks, I'm not sure.
tongue firmly in cheek Capitano. I still think Sa is technically bette than Zamora and probably fits Jol's style better than BZ.
I think if Zamora can get his attitude in check he will continue to be a great asset to the club. The problem us fans had before was that his attitude was affecting his performances, if he can get that straight then he is more than welcome to have his name cheered by the fans.
Gignac on loan, Maynard for about £2m... I wouldn't mind either of those. Maxi Lopez for £10m is a terrible deal and I very much hope this rumour dies a quick death.
Jol has ruled out Gignac as he's currently injured. The club won't budge past £6 million for Lopez, and Catania want 10. He also would prefer to stay in Italy with AC so I guess that's as dead as some doo doo (Blackadder reference)
Jol on Gignac - "He (Gignac) didn't play over the last couple of weeks and won't be involved over the next week or so. He is not fit. I know a lot of good players that did not play for their teams over the last three or four months and I am not interested. " Jol on Lopez - "They say there is no smoke without fire but our intention was never to buy Maxi Lopez. We have got an interest in good players but in a different sort of scenario." When making these comments today, Jol also said - "If you play in the Premier League, you have to be there [fit and ready]. If you take a player from a lower league who is playing games and scoring goals it is probably better than to take somebody who is not fit and probably have to wait four weeks for fitness. For me, it is only an issue if they would add something to my team." Wonder who he had in mind ? Rhodes/ Maynard?
If it is Maynard, he played for Bristol City today, so he'll be cup-tied. Apart from that, I'd be happy to take a punt on him. Apparently Wolves offered £1m, and City are holding out for £2.5m. If those figures are correct, he's worth it. Rhodes will be a lot more, but I'd be very happy if we got him. Either will do just fine for me, particularly if Zamora stays as well.
Its got to be Rhodes for me,if we could keep BZ he could be nursed, and brought into the team slowly. At what 21, 6ft+definatly a lot better prospect than Maynard, if costing under 4mil.
Zamora looked lost today - I dont think he fits the new system that well. We need a striker who plays off the shoulder, pretty much like AJ but bigger, stronger and... better.
Zamora had to rely on a variety of players (Demps, Dembele, Ruiz etc) running across him for the knock-downs, so it's as much a problem for MJ and these guys as it is for Bobby. He was up for a goal, especially second half and would be disappointed not to have scored.
Bobby seemed a bit lost till the point Duff came in. Frei is holding the ball too much some times. Duff's 1-2 with Zamora are very effective. Does anyone else think this was Duff's last game? Only asking coz he gave away his shirt at the end.
