    A top 6 prem club to give the fans a big name and a good gate to boot or a lower pl team such as wolves or wigan to see if we could hack it next year ?.

    Yep, that's my gut instinct, but I can't really make my mind up. In some ways, I don't want the distraction of the Cup, and for the reason you have highlighted, I do. I want the squad to be fit and playing together well, and that only comes with time and matches, so I guess I'd rather they stay in the competition, with the best chance of that happening against a similar or lower league side. Besides, when I actually go to St Marys I don't give two hoots who the opposition is. I go to see Saints, not who we're playing.

    Any home game, 3 games within a week would be a hell of a lot nicer for the players I feel without an away trip in the middle of 2 home games
