Right, personally I felt we looked excellent for 60 minutes today but if it wasn't for Kasper 'God' Schmeichel we'd have been 2-0 down, not to mention that incredible block from Mills.

Abe, Gallagher and King were off the pace today. None of them have warranted a place for the Barnsley game in my opinion.

Beckford, well, I sick up for the bloke and I will do again today. I thought it was disgusting how people around me were asking (f'ing and blinding, really) him to be subbed before he touched the ball. He ran around more than usual but we all know his technical ability is next to nothing, we need players feeding him through balls for him to get on the end of.

Kasper- 8- There was a lot of pre match speculation that a 4m bid had been accepted and that he was off to Spurs. Imagine my relief when he ran out to warm up! He was superb again and only a few kicks let him down but the wind was terrible so you can't really blame him. Nothing to do in the second half.

Peltier- 7- Average Pelts performance, him and Danns played well attcking in the second half. Defensively sound but his crossing lets him down.

Mills- 8- Beginning to look like the Reading player from last season. Dominant in the air, class distribution and he put his body on the line. Top drawer centre half performance.

Tunch- 7- Solid, won every tackle and header but he looked shaky when it was on the deck. I think him and Mills will make a fine partnership. He seemed down to earth during his interview and I am happy for him that he has been given another chance.

Koncheskey- 8- Mr. Consistent delivers yet again. Superb in the air, on the deck and was constantly belting instructions out to Gallagher and Tunch.

Gallagher- 4- ****e, again. Not the kind of player we should be wasting our time with. Mr. Twinkle toes isn't built to be a footballer, he has the mindset of a ballerina. Should have scored.

Abe- 6- Due to the fact King was anonymous he had to run the whole midfield on his own. He never got close to McGugan.

King- 5- What has happened to him? Totally anonymous for the whole season. He needs to take games by the scruff of its neck if he wants to progress in his career.

Danns- 7- Slow first half with him getting very wound up from some back tackles from Greening and The Fat Bastard. Second half he was class, worked very hard.

Schlupp- N/A- First touch and Greening wipes him out a good 2/3 seconds late. The dirty **** should have been off there and then for it. Massive shame after working so hard to get into the side.

Nugent- 8- Well we would have been celebrating a win with Nugent having scored the winner if it wasn't for a superb Man of the Match performance from Lee Camp. Very unlucky, ran their defence ragged.

Beckford- 5- Nothing is falling his way, he's getting very unlucky and his work rate doesn't help that.

Dyer- 6- HOW DID HE MISS THAT? ****ing hell! Besides that he was superb on the flanks.

Wellens- 9- Bossed the midfield when he came on, just like the old Wellens. I've been the first to criticize him, but credit where it's due he was immense.

I told you Wellens just needed a rest, he is still quality and a bit of a break will do him the world of good.

How long can you stick up for Beckford for. He doesnt try and his attitude stinks, with Sharp possibly coming in and Waghorn returning can you really see Beckford getting into the matchday squad

Nugent, Sharp, Waghorn and Howard would be ahead of him and if Jeffs injury isnt as bad as feared he would be ahead of Beckford aswell

    I think he will leave

Not being funny but you were not there today.

He played quite well and had a couple of half chances that he won corners and good saves from.

No i wasnt there today. Im not judging my opinion on 1 game its on every game he has played for us. Stringer and Alan Young was moaning about his effort on the radio today so he was no different today to any other day.

Everyone i have seen who went have had a go at him saying the same things i have been saying for weeks

Do you really think Nigel would pay 3M for Billy Sharp if Beckford was doing the business?

    I was there

I was not impressed, he missed from 6 yds, the best thing he did was that combo with Dyer before shooting over the bar!

Although first half he was playing in from the left with Nugent up front, he looked like the lost sheep, he was barely better in 2nd half when moved up top and swapped?

If Nugent goes up to head on a goal kick/pass out of defence, where would you make your run?

Yes, you are right in behind! Beckford stood and watched from the centre circle.

There was on point Stringer mentioned where Beckford gave the ball away, and didnt chase back and Neil Danns passed Beckford running back and got a tackle in. He said he is no professional footballer but what Beckfords doing just isnt good enough and Nigel will have to get more out of him.

Nigel said there is alot more that Beckford can give and he will look to get it out of him.

So it looks like Nigel is prepared to work with him to give him a chance but i cant see Beckford changing his style now, he is too far into his career to change his style

What about your Gallaghers and Kings that never break into a sweat yet they're never scrutinized as being ****e?

Beckford is the scape goat for a lot of fans and its starting to get pathetic.

His style is play the ball through along the floor for him to run onto and score ala Mr A.Cole.

This will only ever work in L1&L2 now as the champ & Prem are full of top quality defenders who read the game better and cut out these balls now, he needs to drop to his level or he needs to adapt and work hard like all other top strikers to improve, he WILL not do this, because he is in it for the money and cannot be arsed. He thinks he has made it already but he hasn't and will be in the conference in five years!

I F&^K**g hope he is reading this thread!

Do you think Beckford is feeling the pressure of his price tag and the fans getting on his back?

    Yes, clearly.

I think he was trying to wow the fans in his first interview and it backfired horribly.

Well there you go then. That was his ego talking and it has backfired spectacularly. Since then has he done an interview, i think what would help win some fans over if he did try and connect with the fans more. Give an interview to Stringer, join Twitter or something as if he carries on this way he is only getting closer and closer to the exit door

Sounded to me like his confidence was talking.

Which has subsequently been shot to peices after having a grand total of 4 chances in 20 odd games.

People arent on his back because he isnt banging in goals, i think given time then he will start to score more.

Its his effort and attitude which gets everyones backs up

    Well clearly not.

He ran 30 yards to chance a lost cause and then some good link up play with Dyer made an opportunity that me missed.

People were screaming that he should **** off.

One moron even said '**** off to your own country'.

1 or 2 moments isnt good enough, he is payed a very good wage to run around for an hour and half. But shouting abuse at players doesnt help especially when its your own supporters doing it. I have never booed Beckford or shouted abuse at him because i dont think its right.

I trust Nigel to sort Beckford out and if Nigel feels he cant then he will get rid of him. What ever Nigel chooses to do i will back it, i think Beckford is a good player but he his work rate is unacceptable and needs to improve and Sharpish, or he might lose his place to Sharp

I was just using an example.

But, as you say, 1 or 2 good crosses or through balls or one twos isn't good enough either.

No i agree maybe we arent playing to his strengths but as i said the problem i have is he doesnt try hard enough and his attitude isnt good enough. I think he would score goals if he was given chances. Any lets put it this way

Would you rather have 2 David Nugents up front or 2 Jermaine Beckfords?
