I GIVE UP THIS GAME HAS CHANGED!! A couple of saves ago i used to be able to do a team meeting at the start of the season to say come on lads we can get promotion this year. Now we can't? WHat is happening. just lost 4-0 at HOME to bristol city. started the season off well ish then hit a massive blip in form and cant get out of it. not won in 6 games. im gunna have a go at another club. an easy club. arsenal!
I would say to you that being Arsenal isn't the easiest club to be, high expectations, although I don't know what their budget is this year. Try Man City for easy mode.
Malaga would be pretty easy I reckon, considering their lowish expectations and large budget. PSG might be another one.
Went back to my save on my Genoa game before I resigned from Saint and led them to two victories at the end of the season, so I'm keeping on going with it. This kid is in my youth academy. Looks pretty amazing apart from his pace and strength, but I'm sure I'll figure out some way to play him. please log in to view this image
Malaga get pretty hard to manage, first season your get about 17mil and can finish top half. After that they want the league but only give you 20mil to compete against Barca and Madrid. They don't own their stadium so you don't get much revenue either.
Getting really frustrated atm, top of the prem, drawn 2 won 4, unbeaten, great start to the season, then beaten by a 30 yard screamer from a **** player with long shots 8 in the league cup... Then dominated 4-0 by Arsenal, and there CB Papadoplous (sp?) scores 2 30 yarders... His long shots are 6... I can't remember anyone from my Saints team in this entire save scoring from outside the box, it seems to happen against me every game, constantly get goals of the month against me...
Have not played Football manager today as I have been busy, playing it for an hour or two now, try and get near to the start of my third season, The one in the Championship, it will be great, but I have lost quiet a few players already.
Just about to play my first Championship game at Gillingham away at Charlton, going to be hard, have many new players, Will give a full write up but I have lost Baldock to Swansea and David Robertson to Swansea but I have brought in Amos from Man Utd and many others.
I have just drew 2-2 at Charlton. I sold Baldock to Swansea with David Robertson for 3 million between them with rising fees, to around 4 Million. Kedwell has gone for 100k, Shane Ferguson sold for nearly a million, Charlie Lee and Whelpdale went to Swansea for around 1 Million between them. Then I lost my best defender Ben Mee, someone who I wanted to keep for only 700k to Stoke, I would have wanted a lot more but he had a release clause and he would not sign a new contract, then Brandy went for 200k. I then had to sell my left back Tesselaar for 1 Million which is a good return considering I got him on a free at the start of the season. The other players I sold are the following- Jordan Rhodes- Soton- 550k, they signed him after the loan, I wanted more, but he had a release clause. Matthew Fry- 400k, good sum of money Lowton and Sammy Ameobi- sold for around 300k Michael Jacobs- 300k Harry Maguire- 800k Matt Gledhill- 200k Sam Vokes- Leicester- 700k, did not really play many games for me and they come calling, just let him go as I had many strikers. I also sold many other players and overall I made around 12 Million pounds which is very good as I needed a bit to spend. I loaned out many players but there is a few that are out on loan due to the amount of players I have Zaha- Swansea- Loan- Fee 400k- future fee 2 Million Schlupp- Fee 43k Jack Payne- Wigan- Season long loan I have spent a bit of money replacing the lot that I have lost. Here is a run down of the main ones. Gk- Ben Amos- Free out of contract at Man Utd Defence Ryan Shotton- Free- Peterborough- was at Stoke Joe Dudgeon- 10k Prince Desir Gouano- 20k Jonathan Parr- Free Midfield Jay Emmanuel Thomas- 20k Jake Livermore- Free released from spurs Cameron Stewart- Free, did not get in Hull team Serge Gnabry- 20k was at Arsenal transfer listed after they got him from German league, only 18 in third season Haris Vuckic- 50k from Newcastle, most expensive, did have on loan Strikers Jay Rodriguez- Free, Fell out with the manager at Burnley after Howe left and a new one took over, They signed a new player loaned him to me, I signed him on a free, good transfer, probably the most important one. Joshua King- Free from Man Utd, was out of contract Rodri- Signed on a small fee from Barcelona B side with a clause that if he gets 20 goals I pay 50k Danny Iggs- 10k- Same sort of reason as jay, but they wanted a fee. I think overall I have done well with money and I have a budget of 11 Million still left.
How the **** do you get a million for Shane Ferguson and then manage to pick up a load of players who develop into good Premiership players for about 300k between them?
A lot of hard work, Ferguson was a good player for me so he required a good offer and that come in so he was sold.
When I get to the end of a season it takes me over 4 hours to get ready for the new one, in that time I look through loads of players who have been transfer listed, near the end of their contract, out of contract or are cheap, I don't look spending much money, I think in the 1st season, 2nd season and my start of the third season I have only spent around 400k and have sold players up to 20 million, it is all about finding talent and selling stars, hopefully this season will not be the one it all goes wrong, but I have money there if I need it. My left back last season Tesselaar was great, I got him on a free from St Mirrens as he was out of contract and he rejected their offers, he played most games for me and at the end of the season many teams had shown interest, Leicester were the ones who had the most money, Bolton offered only 700k but Leicester pipped them and offered the whole 1 Million. So now he has been agreed to leave us, I know how much I have to spend, but I look at the cheapest players first and I see Jonathan Parr who was at Peterborough after signing from Crystal Palace on a free transfer, he only signed a 1 year contract but he cost them nothing so they did not lose much really, but he had really improved so I got him on a free, now he is worth around 300k. Now we move onto Ben Mee, my best centre back who I am very unhappy to lose, he was with my team 1 year as I got him from Man City on a free after his contract expired, in the January transfer window I nearly lost him to Bolton for 500k as he had a release clause, so I gave him a new contract but he would only sign with a 700k release clause, so he stayed and in the summer I lost him to Stoke for 700k as he would not sign for me again which is a shame, I feel done over as I think he was worth at least 1 million as he was great for me, but I had to move on, I went and signed Ryan Shotton from Peterborough, he was at Stoke but they sold him to Peterborough, but they got relegated to League 1 as I was going up and he was one of the players who were not happy so he was transfer listed so I got him for free. This gives you a small run down of what I do, it is hard, but I like it, I feel like I am doing a good job.
Got saints into the europa league so far, building a very good young team. Sturridge had an outstanding season and now has a fight with me everytime I say he can't leave for a "bigger" club. My best suggestion is finding scouts with the best ability at finding and judging potential and send them throughout the globe. South america is a GOLD mine. Found a brazilian cb who's 18 but is already a "good premier league player" need I say more.
I wish I was a little bigger of a side as Sturridge got released on my one and he joined Aston Villa on a free, feels like a steal as he is so good to be free, defiantly at his age.
Never expected what was going to happen in my first home league game in this league, Against Brighton 4 minutes 1-0 up and then 2-0 at 9 minutes then I went 3-0 and 4-0 just before half time, then 4-1, then 5-1, then 6-1 then it ended 6-2, what a game, after 2 games I am 6th in the Championship, I can't go up, I don't have the team now. Now for an away game at Top of the league Burnley, now that is a game and a half.
Now I am shocked, Burnley were top, it was an away game, I went 2-0 up after 35 minutes but was then pegged back to 2-2, But I scored a winner at 89 minutes I won 3-2 at Burnley, I am third, must just be one of them starts where the players overachieve for a few games, I can't go up.
