Can't say I'm happy nor upset.. if we continue to play youth all the while we're in the tournament I'm happy.
It was nice to see some of the young guys get a game. With 5 subs there will not be many more chances for them to show their talent. Sounds like we have some good talent in the wings.
Im slightly disspointed with a lot of the comments at half time today, especially on twitter. Lot's of stupid 'fans' slagging off Adkins etc. One of them said he was a disgrace and we should be deducted points for a weakened team. Funny that with the same team basically we turned it around in the second half due to some good tactical changes from Nigel. What's more worrying is when we get promoted and we lose 3 or 4 in a row I can see these people turning on the team very quickly!
I think people were disappointed by how poor we have been in the cup this season and another loss would have not helped anyone. However, I do agree some criticisms are wildly over the top. Interesting interview with Adkins after the game who suggested that the reason Holmes and Forte did not play today was because they may be going the same way as Dickson. Secondly it sounded like Saints are keen to bring in a few more players aside from Lee.
What a shambles, 3 losses on the bounce, the club is in crisis, Adkins get your act together!! Why havn't we signed 288 players today? WHAT IS GOING ON !!! ARRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHH GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR !!! hang on. We won? Oh. Good. Carry on.
The thing I find funny when certain fans go mad at half time because we're losing, then at full time go 'I always had faith in you Adkins'
Only matter of interest today was the youngsters having a chance, well done JWP and Martin also does anyone know who got the first assist, heard conflicting reports some say it was Hoskins if so even more great news. Lets play the same team throughout the comp and give them more experience but if we go out well it really doesnt bother me personally, one day I want us to win the cup thats just not possible at the moment. Anyway still a good performance from all involved.
CBK, Saint-Harry, I was disappointed with the first half performance, but who wouldn't be when you know how your team can play. That does not mean that I think Adkins is doing badly. It is also good for confidence the win today. The Doncaster away game is the only other day where I felt that we have under achieved.
The funniest thing was I bet most of the people having a go didnt really care about the cup just want an excuse to moan, to be fair nige has done poorely on that front I mean most weeks I come home after the football and all I can say is 'yeh we were excellent played brilliant and are top of the league' I mean surely the only reason for going to the football is to moan, it almost seems like nige doesnt know this!
Thought it was important to stop the losing streak even though the FA Cup isn't important to us this year. Love being in the draw..best part of the tournament. Also nice that we won with a 'weakened side' as, although supposedly good in depth, we often struggle with a few absentees. Good on the youngsters and they said on BBC site that Bart made some good saves...just what he needed.
Not really very good performance today, but we slowly improved as the game went on. Bart made a couple of saves; not at fault for the goal; distribution wasn't great - Fox gave him a rollicking for one poor pass. Harding got a lot of space on the right and did ok. Ward-prowse didn't really shine but took his goal well. He missed a golden chance right after half time. Reeves did well for the 20 mins he was on. Hoskins worked hard and did ok Doble looked out of his depth. The youngsters need a little strengthening. Was hoping for a draw for Lambert suspension; but good to win.
