Tears of black football star as Liverpool are embroiled ANOTHER race row after fans shout abuse during FA Cup clash

Liverpool football club were at the centre of yet another race row after an opposing player was allegedly abused by fans during their 5-1 FA Cup win over Oldham at Anfield.

Defender Tom Adeyemi broke down in tears after spectators in the Kop end are reported to have called the youngster 'a f****** black *******.'

It is understood that Adeyemi has given a statement to police in which he claimed he was the victim of a racist attack, which included the term “black c***”.

Players from both sides intervened with Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard and striker Dirk Kuyt amongst those attempting to reassure the Oldham player.

Liverpool confirmed an incident took place and said investigations were continuing.

'An incident occurred in the second half of the match which is now being investigated by both the club and the police,' said a statement.

'We will continue to work with the police to establish the details of what actually happened and will make a further statement in due course.'

Local police have released a statement, adding: ‘Merseyside Police can confirm that no one has been arrested this evening (Friday, 6 January) on suspicion of racially aggravated behaviour during tonight's FA Cup fixture at Anfield.

‘However, the Force and Liverpool Football Club are investigating following an incident that occurred during the second half of the game.

‘The aim of the investigation is to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident to ascertain if any action needs to be taken.’

The event will undoubtedly mar the club's reputation following the recent suspension handed out to striker Luis Suarez for racially abusing Manchester United defender Patrice Evra.
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, 2nd left, offers Adeyemi, right, his reassurance after the Oldham players was abused by the home crowd

The Uruguayan was accused of calling the French international 'negrita' - literally translated as 'black' more than ten times during the 1-1 draw at Anfield.

Oldham manager Paul Dickov said he had not spoken to the player about the incident, but accepted something had upset him.

'From my point of view I have not spoken to Tom about it but I know the kid and something has been said,' he said.

The Scot continued: 'He is a placid boy, a kid who has been well-educated with a fantastic temperament and has been with us since the end of August and I've never seen him raise his voice.

'For him to react like that it is obvious something has been said but what has been said I don't know because I've not had a chance [to ask] - I was too busy praising my players.

'He is fine now. He has calmed down. He is a laid-back kid who just gets on with business.

'Our players went and calmed him down and the Liverpool players did as well, which was fantastic and is why they are top professionals.

'I have been told the police are investigating it but that is all I know.'

I know it's the minority but this is disgraceful.

Just what Liverpool needed at this time.

I'm surprised Dogleash hasnt come out in support of the fans, and making yet another whining statement as to how everyone is against Liverpool. <doh>

I read it on BBC, was sort of suprised by a comment made by Paul Dickov.

He claimed that he didnt ask this lad what was wrong during that match, as he was too busy praising his players. Yes, praise the team, because they did play well. But, bloody hell, anyone with an ounce of Management leadership would first discover what was wrong with player first. He was apprantely crying, so surely Paul cant have been entirely in the dark that a player was upset

You should see my Facebook at the minute. Adeyemi's old friends are NOT happy.

The conflicting stories don't help matters. One lot claims it was "Manc bastard", others "****ing black bastard".
The timing REALLY doesn't help though.

Force them to play a game behind closed doors?

Nothing will happen. Liverpool have already been punished enough by the FA, i don't see them taking it too seriously unfortunately.

Can you really punish Liverpool for the behaviour of several fans?

Strikes me as somewhat unfair but an example needs to be made.
I'd say a couple of games behind closed doors would punish both fans and club enough.

As ever, the repulsive mirror kissers are doing their "Victim" crap, and not condemning. Rather it's everybody else's fault - especially the kid for being in tears because the non-racist racists abused him
These pompous bastards get lower and lower.

I cringe every time Dalglish comes out supporting Suarez. He's just digging himself a deeper and deeper hole and looking like a fool.

As for their fans that is bang out of order. But I've been to away games where our fans have shouted things like 'you black bastard' etc, there is no possible way of stopping it and it happens with every set of fans. It's not only Liverpool fans. But the people saying it are probably inbred freaks that still suck on their mums tits so you just have to rise above it.

Have you read their side of this site ?
They are even ranting that EVRA "got away scot free" - he was the VICTIM you scouse turd !!!!!!
But Liverpool fans believe THEY are the victims when they are the perpetrators, and until now, the stinking media have backed them - good example - when WE demonstrated against Ashley at the bottom of the league, the media - including the BBC
    - condemned us, we were "delusional" (the origin of this constant phrase) when LIVERPOOL fans did it - at the other end of the league, they were "correct" Right on ! said the hypocritical media. (They did the same with Man U fans and Glazer)
Now, no doubt, the press will regroup and back Liverpool fans every inch.
    You watch.

Daglish made it far worse with the idiotic T shirt crap, and encouraged the Liverpool fans it was right and proper to be racist.
Some just took it to it's logical conclusion.
But all we've seen so far is Liverpool fans in denial, and even BLAMING THE VICTIMS for God's sake.

There is massive hypocrisy with the media. Not only newspapers, put shows like MoTD, mainly as it's rammed with ex-Liverpool 'leg-ends' who won't hear a bad word said about their club, even if it's the truth.

I'd like to wonder what they FA would do if it was Wolves, QPR etc at the centre of this?

As much as I hate Liverpool .. this is just the media trying to squeeze every last drop out of 'Racist Liverpool' and Adeyemi is looking for his 5 mins. You cant punish the club as a whole for something that a couple of fans shouted.

You hear things like 'b**** b******' ect shouted at most football matches, the words mountain and molehill come to mind.

On the upside, hopefully if the ever bid for Ba he'd turn them down flat! Seen as their players and manager think that there is nothing wrong with the way Suarez acted.
