It seems that Ba has a £10m release clause then? 15 EPL goals in 20 games, a decent African Nations Cup and for £10m he will be high on a few clubs wanted list I think. I bet there are a host of agents and club representatives already out there waiting to tap him up. Has he already played his last game or will it be the summer before if goes?
Well Cest, There will be stacks of takers if it´s confirmed (which if we´re all honest, we know it will be, he was canny enough to negotiate a free transfer into the West Ham deal, great ****ing agent!). What I do think, is it´s obvious Ba is enjoying playing for a big and proper club, after playing for Hoffenheim for a few years, and I think the only clubs who´d interest hi right now would be London Champions League contenders. Arsenal or Spurs... both looking for strikers..
It's probably the only way we could get him here, and I doubt he'll leave in January, maybe the summer but it wouldn't surprise me if a new contract is negotiated, as Ba will know himself that he could go for millions. Release Clauses always have parts to them, for example based on how many he has scored, and I think after the whole relegation fiasco, MA will be a genius in that department now. No one expected Ba to be this good to be fair, which is why it's being made a big deal out of.
This is very true mate, at the time, 10million probably sounded ideal to the club. The thing I remember though, is that when he went to West Ham, he went because he was desperate to be in London, which is why I think there´s limited clubs who he´d leave you for.
Yep, and I couldn't blame Ba for leaving. I think we'll have him for the season and then we'll have loads of offers in the summer.
I´d agree. Can´t see anyone buying a player who´s away for a few weeks, and likely to be a bit jaded when he gets back.
Also, saggy face is a ****ing hypocrite after the whole Modric situation. As Lee Ryder has just put on twitter, I bet a lot of his best players have release clauses, but no one blabs them in public.
Good point well put. Maybe someone who does know should tell the world about it. Harry should have a good laugh at that.
The lad would be mad to leave IMO Some times players dont know how good they have it then they move and they go down hill rapidly and I think the same of Ba, like Bent he aint good enough for the top teams but for a mid table team he could do a great job. He is at the right club for him at Newcastle and he would be daft to leave IMO
Bent is the perfect example of the ass not being greener. Miserable at Spurs and going nowhere, resulrected at Sunderland but then got greedy and now miserable as **** again at Villa. Ba did score goals at W Ham mind and I have no doubts he could do that at Spurs or Arsenal but I think if all the mags are likely to get is 10m anyway, \they wont and shouldnt cash in now. The summer will be soon enough imo. However, one thought is probably in the minds of Big Mike and thats Ba's fitness record. Sell him now for £10m or risk him getting that knee walloped between now and May and being out for a long time, which means he would get **** all for the lad.
i know no-one seems to abide by the rule at all, but i thought you could only play for 2 clubs in a 12 month period?? if ba were to move in january, that would be his fourth?? or is it just in a single season, not calendar year..? did he play for west ham before signing for newcastle at the start of this season?
I just reckon its a sad state of affairs when a player (such as Bent/Ba) can get his career massively progressed by a club in a short space of time and then all of a sudden a transfer is on the horizon as the vultures come swooping to prey on the not so wealthy with promises of more fame and fortune. At least we got a bit more time from Bent and a decent some of money, in all honesty I hope Ba shows a bit of loyalty and appreciation and stays for a least another year to restore a fragment of my belief in player loyalty.
Just checked FIFA rules and you can be registered at 3 clubs in a season but only play for 2 clubs in official matches each season.
Thats a canny shout actually because he was playing for Hoffenheim last January 2011, signed for W Ham in January 2011 and then the Barcodes in June 2011. Thats 3 clubs he has played for in 12 months anyway. Isnt it? Surely he couldnt sign for anyone until the Summer of 2012?
Okay, so he has only played for one clubn this season then? Champion he CAN **** off then and leave the craas now. Lol
I don't think he'll be away this window, but there will be plenty of offers for him in the summer, providing his amazing form continues. It doesn't take a genius to work that out! Clubs like ours can't keep players like that.
I kind of reluctantly agree Dave that both our clubs couldn't keep those kinds of players but isn't that a crying shame too? Two massively supported, one city clubs with rich and proud traditions, are viewed as just also rans in the big picture in the EPL? You just beat the current champions and we beat the richest club in the world and probable heirs elect (with a totally weakened team) last weekend and yet we are not considered good enough to keep the Demba Ba's and Daren Bents of this world. I would imagine that a £10m maximum sale price will be a little annoying as well, as even though you got him for next to nowt, on the open market, if he scores 20 + goals (maybe not as easy as it may seem as he is going to be missing for 5 or 6 weeks and only 12 games will remain when he comes back) then he would be worth at least double that for sure? Any truth to the rumours that Agent Ashley is about to sell you to some anonymous middle eastern buyer? Good or bad? I look at the likes of Portsmouth, Blackburn and Birmingham and I see more of those than I do Man City's and Chelsea's to be honest.
