    It was Adeyemi's fault.

    Adeyemi is lying.

Whatever was said is acceptable in Scouse.

Which of the above excuses do you think Liverpool will use if this is found to be true?

He's obviously a supporter of Suarez wearing one of those shirts, so surely he is going to use the "it's okay to say that where I'm from" defense.

I remember a few asian friends of mine who were LFC fans went to anfield

after the match they went up to souness (he was a player at the time) to tap him on the back and say well done

apparently he said '**** off you black ****s'

They never went back and stopped supporting them

God you lot are hilarious. Course lfc has racist fans. Every club has. That doesn't excuse it but the fact you think racist fans are exclusive to Liverpool is slightly ridiculous. And if u want to know lfc's stance on the abuse, read the statement! <ok>. I hope they get banned for life.

    Who has said that?

Surely the only evidence against the fan would be Adeyemi's word (?) in which case I'd have though Liverpool's stance would be that the fan can't be charged or punished.

There are witness statements who heard the comments mentioned, more than can be said for the Evra case...<whistle>

Personally I'm sick of everything to do with race.

If it wasn't so political, he wouldn't have been so upset. He's a young lad, brought up in a hysterical climate where racism is apparently worse than rape or murder. It's conditioned his response.

@stopthepress. Don't patronise the man. He went to one of the best schools in the country (ahem, my school as well) and is more than capable of handling a bit of banter. But why should anyone put up with the alleged behaviour in their workplace?

Some of the LFC 'fans' comments on here and elsewhere in the net are horrendous- speaks volumes

Sadly it was all so predictable. I knew that the scousers club would reap the consequences of their misguided stance on Suarez. Like many people outside the scousers club I blame Dalglish for showing desperately poor leadership. He is to a great extent responsible for what happened last night.

You can only feel sorry for the Oldham lad who did nothing wrong. In the eyes of these so called fans the only problem was the colour of his skin: He was just the wrong colour. We thought this sort of thinking had gone with the last century. No, sadly it is well and truly alive on merseyside. At a time when we have even the Met Police changing because of Stephen Lawrence and the whole of the society feels so much for the family of that gentle indian lad senselessly murdered in Salford.

I have read somewhere an article/blog from an extreme right wing rag, PRAISING liverpool for its position on Suarez and the use of the N word. Dalglish may well have argued his case on an intelligent and detailed basis but does he not realise that some of the less enlightened/intelligent fans of his club would just pick up on the fact that Liverpool was against a black player who had been called names.

That is why many antiracist groups outisde football were so outraged when the club and suarez accepted their punishment but then went on a serious attack on the FA and the victim himself and his club. This gave signals to the less salubrious fans that the club was on their side. The club knew and accepted that they had done wrong according to the rules and yet they attacked the FA. What does it say to the whole world about their stance on racism?

The whole world will be watching what Liverpool does next. So far the silence has been deafening from Dalglish. he had plenty to say to immediately defend Suarez. He has so far refused to condemn the racist attack on the Oldham player. He has not even said that he felt sorry for the lad if he had been abused and that the club would never condone such attacks.

No, he chooses to stay silent. The club chooses to stay silent and we can all draw our own conclusions.

Is it just me or has the Liverpool board been pulled?

Adeyemi is such a decent young lad, and intelligent to boot (could have gone to Cambridge) he's playing at Oldham to prove himself and he would have been massively looking forward to such a big game.

Feel sick for the lad, ****ing cowards that shouted that at him should never be allowed in a football ground again.

Guy gets racially abused, gets blamed and demonised by LFC fans and club.

Second guy gets racially abused and facetious comments start flying. Classy.

What has really surprised me was the attitude of the club to this incident. I would have thought they would have used this opportunity to come out very strongly on anti-racism. They could have stated in no way were they going to accept any black player being abused at our grounds and that if the police or any investigation found the fan guilty he'll be banned for x number of years as an example to all. It would have been strong signal to all their fans that while they defended Suarez for whaever he was accused of (because they belived he was innocent) they were not going to tolerate racism in any form.

I did not belive how in a matter of weeks, without leadership that club has been dragged into the gutter.

I just wondered who was leading at the club. In one way, leaving all this to Dalglish was unfair because he was/is not up to that job. He may be a good football tactician but he is not a PR man. He was totally incompetent in trying to defend the club. His sarcastic remarks may play well against Ferguson's jibes but do not go well among the wider public when trying to defend the club against serious accusations of racism.

The other thing is how enlightening it is to read the scousers forum. Instead of blaming the fan for dragging the club into this shame they have all sorts of excuses for him: the fan was misinterpreted, the Oldham player was at fault, he was too sensitive, he was lying. Not a bad word said in the forum against the fan. This tells us what we need to know about the scousers fans attitude towards black players. Can it be coincidence that their club had that episode of racism with John barnes, then Suarez, then this fan?

That's bullshit, most fans have said that if the fans said those comments, which looks likely, then they should be banned for life. As for the club, what do you expect them to say other than what they have?

"An incident occurred in the second half of the match which is now being investigated by both the club and the police. We will continue to work closely with the police to establish the details of what actually happened and will make a further statement in due course."

I'm sure if they are found guilty which looks likely then the fans will not only be banned but face prosecution too.

All will be used, but you've missed "victim" - apparently whatever happens Liverpool fans are the victim. Especially when THEY are at fault.
Also, Liverpool fans were already blaming Evra (the victim of abuse remember) and Dogleash sparked the whole "defend racism" crap with the T shirt stupidity
Its up to him to stop it getting worse.
Liverpool fans are already blaming everyone but themselves (as expected. They always do anyway)
