In light of our newest signing, a profile on Ricky Foster, including views of journalists from the BBC & the Scottish Daily Express. The Exiled Robin: Just who is Richard Foster? http://exiledrobin.blogspot.com/2012/01/just-who-is-richard-foster.html?spref=tw
Well I must admit I had not heard of him - however, the fact that he's Aberdeen's captain tells us something - we need leaders on the pitch. I assume he will play at right back.
Nice blog again from exiledredrobin with some food for thought for us all. The only acid test for this man is in his own head and his performances will rule the reviews. Good luck to him and I think that the football acumen of DM will win the day - believe!
The blog says left back! So I take this as McGiven is not staying with us, with the glowing references of Ribs and if he stays fit I would of thought both full backs could be sorted now.
So,we have a short (5'.9"),very fast, versatile( left & right),speedy player, quite mature, distribution is questionable and a Scottish hack doesn't think he is up to Championship standard. Good information Cider as usual and I think I'll stick by Delboys judgement and say we've got a value for money player not a Billy Bigboots, who is going to do well and fit right in. Up the City.
Ah, the server. Clearly not cursed with intelligence. He/She/It will probably post up the Crawley highlights next...
Ive not heard of him apart from coming across him on football manager who he was lift as a left back that could play on the right also
Just a quick note to say thanks to you all for reading and taking an interest - this has just become the most-read posting on the site!
Maybe we can get the old fullback /winger double up going on the wings again like the good old days of Scotty....
I repeat what I said on another thread about McInnes. âI remember back in the late 60âs and through the 70âs a certain Brian Clough buildt TWO First Division Championship teams at Derby and Forest and won the European Cup twice at Forest. It was mainly a collection of misfits and under performers from First and Second Division English & Scottish clubs; examples John Robertson, overweight / Kenny Burns wild man got sent off too much / and loads of other journeymen. I have a strong suspicion that DEREK McINNES has a similar outlook and ability to get more out of his players than many other managers and he is going to prove it over the next season or three at Ashton Gate.â So letâs trust him about Ricky Foster. For £250 K weâre not getting superman, but probably a good steady journeyman, a bit of a leader and from his record, one who does not miss too many games due to injury. PS. Nice to see Ribeiro back to challenge Foster for his place.
