As if Mike Ashley would let him leave for 10m.

He knew he'd be sold for profit if he did well so it's only logical he'd negotiate a way to join a European club...

He owes us for giving him a chance when hardly anyone else would.

For that reason alone, I think he won't go this transfer window at least.

Not really much he can do if there is a £10m release clause, once that fee's met it means Newcastle are contractually obliged to accept it, hopefully it's a load of bollocks

If there is in fact a release clause as cheap as that then we need to move fast and tie him up to a better contract and get rid of that clause or else where going to see a player that's 10x the player that Carroll is leave but for nearly a 1/3 of what we sold that Judas bastard for

According to local press it's probably an agent trying to cause a fuss (he had ****loads of them trying to represent him, including one who was in negotiations with Everton), either to unsettle him or strengthen his position for a new contract or transfer.

Ashleigh will look on it as a £10m profit, and there are probably other clauses such as percentages of any future sales to go to NUFC.

Hopefully this talk of a release clause is bollocks, MA and co. would of been trying to keep a lid on it, they know he's worth more than £10m. But other clubs do research and find these things out like we did with Cabaye's release clause

In Karen Brady's column a while ago she said how when west ham were trying to negotiate him a new deal he was demanding a minimum fee release clause, so its worryingly possible, I just hope any clause he does have is greater than £10m

All this talk of Ashley not 'mugging himself off' at 10m.

Do you really think that anyone predicted that Ba would be second top scorer in the league at 15 goals by January? A 10m release clause on a player that was free, only played half a season in the PL and that may have a dodgy knee might of seemed reasonable at the time that Demba was signed .. well it had to of seemed okay to Ashley and Co. since they handed Demba the contract.

No one wants Ba to leave and everyone seems to be convincing each other that he wont. (I've noticed this trend before on not606 when a good player may be heading for the door). I hope he dosnt go anywhere, chances are that it wont be this month due to being at the Acon so we can get a new contract signed and sealed by the summer, if Ashley will get his hand in his pocket and pays Demba a higher wage - he'd be mugging himself off if he didnt.

This is FIFA's offical stance on transfer regulations.
    http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/affederation/administration/01/06/30/78/statusinhalt_en_122007.pdf

Article 5.3 Found on Page 9 of this document on this link.

"Players may be registered with a maximum of three clubs during
one season. During this period, the player is only eligible to play
official matches for two clubs. As an exception to this rule, a player
moving between two clubs belonging to associations with overlapping
seasons (i.e. start of the season in summer/autumn as opposed to
winter/spring) may be eligible to play in official matches for a third
club during the relevant season, provided he has fully complied with
his contractual obligations towards his previous clubs. Equally, the
provisions relating to the registration periods (article 6) as well as to the
minimum length of a contract (article 18 paragraph 2) must be respected."

I think this seems to confirm he wont be going anywhere in Janaury but what is extremely apparent is his contract needs to be renegoiated in the summer if any of this is true, of course this is pure speculation and I'm sure the club will have something to say in response to Harry Redknapps comments.

I am a Sunderland supporter but if Demba is not worth double that was payed for Carroll there is something wrong somewhere he impresses me in that he can score from what I would say was less than a half chance I hope that he can stay at Newcastle for a long time with an improved contract

It's not just him you should all be worried about! other clubs WILL come in for Cabaye, Tiote, Colo and Simpson at some stage and they WILL offer higher wages. I'll allow the squirrels brains to try and calculate what WILL happen.
