Would you want him? I'd imagine he wouldn't be too expensive, is young, fast, plays on the left, and can score. For <8m I'd think he'd be a steal. I'd offload Arshavin and bring him in instead - you'd not only cut the wage bill, but you'd have a young player with something to prove and a long future ahead of him, but with Premiership experience. Also...Victor Moses is rumoured to be available for ~8m. Another young, promising and pacey player who can play out wide but can also finish. I'd take either of these personally. I think they'd be fantastic backup to Gervinho and could fill in while he's away.
the problem is, you could put Arshavin in the blackburn team & in turn make him look very good in that side.
I am against all these little speed merchant wingers, your Routledges and Walcotts, no end product. If we want someone to toss the ball into the box accurately Pennant is by far the best choice, but I wouldn't want to see him back at Arsenal.
I like Hoilett and want him at Spurs but I don't think he's the right player for Arsenal. Even if you sell Arshavin, you've still got Gervinho, AOC and Walcott who are fast wingers that can cut inside. I think you're better off getting in a different option to have on the wing, maybe someone who can cross and makes good decisions in the final third? It certainly would make a change.
He only has 6 months left on his contract and Blackburn aren't talking about extending it: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16443781.stm With 6 months left, surely he'd be worth a cheeky 1m bid?? Or making some sort of dodgy contact with him and picking him up for free in summer??
Hoilett's still young enough that he'd require a fee, even if his contract expires. A foreign side could get him on a pre-contract now and Bosman him in the summer, though.
If we could get both players then that would really add quality to the squad, also i think that a bid for dembele would be a good shout aswell as he a fantastic player who would be rated a lot higher were he at one of the top 5 clubs.
Even if we signed him, who'd be in the box to get on the end of his crosses...? I do rate him though. Very exciting, young player.
He has impressed but if we are going to get anyone from Blackburn then it has to be this young left back they got. Blackburn had a very good bunch of youngsters coming through and now they are starting to make the first team. Also in career mode on FIFA he was one of the players to watch out for. Oh his name is Adam Henley.
Yes, with Gibbs being as injury prone as he is and with Santos not really fully convincing everyone, I really do think we need to get a new LB that will be in our team for years.
I'm wondering if Blackburn would consider selling now. I hear that they have to sell to bring in new players, so you have to imagine they'll cash in on their prized assets.
